My recent experience at the Permit Room in the Majestic Hotel was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I stepped in, the warm and inviting atmosphere made me feel instantly comfortable. The food was absolutely divine – a perfect blend of flavors and textures that left me wanting more. Every dish was clearly prepared with care and attention to detail, showcasing the culinary expertise of the kitchen staff. The service, however, truly elevated the experience to another level. I particularly want to commend Divyanshu Negi for his outstanding hospitality. He is, without a doubt, one of the best personalities I've encountered in the hospitality industry. His genuine warmth and attentiveness made us feel like we were dining in the comfort of our own home. He anticipated our needs before we even voiced them, offering helpful recommendations and ensuring that every aspect of our meal was perfect. Divyanshu's dedication to providing exceptional service is truly commendable, and he went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. He has a knack for creating a personal connection with his guests, making them feel valued and appreciated. Beyond the delicious food and impeccable service, the ambiance of the Permit Room is also worth mentioning. It's a stylish and comfortable space, perfect for both casual gatherings and special occasions. The overall experience was so positive that I can't wait to return. If you're looking for a fantastic dining experience with top-notch food and service, the Permit Room at the Majestic Hotel is a must-visit. And if you're lucky enough to be served by Divyanshu, you're in for a truly special treat. He embodies the true spirit of hospitality and made our visit truly unforgettable. Highly...
Read moreThe Permit Room in the Majestic Hotel, Bur Dubai, is one of those places where nostalgia meets modern dining with a twist. From the moment you step inside, you’re transported to what feels like your grandparents’ cozy living room—but with a contemporary, chic edge. It’s the perfect blend of comfort and style, making it a great spot for everything from family dinners to catching up with friends.
The menu is where things get really exciting. Indian classics are given a bold, creative makeover, and the results are absolutely delicious. Some standouts include the Pav Bhaji Focaccia (AED 38), which takes the beloved street food dish to a whole new level, and the Burrata Chaat (AED 50), a fusion dish that’s as refreshing as it is flavorful. We also loved the Erachi Pepper Patti Samosas (AED 55), which are packed with flavor and spice.
For mains, the Cooker Kukad with Jeera Rice (AED 60) is pure comfort food—perfectly cooked and seasoned to perfection. To end the meal, don’t miss the Ferrero Rocher Chocobar (AED 40), a dessert that’s indulgent and satisfying.
The Permit Room also takes things up a notch with V’Desi, their rooftop dining area. It’s got a buzzing vibe, live music, and stunning views of the Dubai skyline. Their signature cocktails like the zesty Gin Fling (AED 45) and tangy Thyme Sour (AED 50) are the perfect pairing for the global Indian flavors on the menu. Add in some shisha and the cool outdoor breeze, and it’s a recipe for the ultimate hangout spot.
Whether you’re here for the food, drinks, or the ambiance, The Permit Room delivers on all fronts. It’s more than just a meal—it’s an experience that’s fun, nostalgic, and full of surprises. Highly recommended for anyone looking to try something new with...

I visited this place to celebrate my husband's birthday after finding it online. I specifically called ahead to confirm that it’s a family-friendly place and requested a simple birthday message on the dessert — they assured me it would be taken care of.
From the moment we arrived, the service was underwhelming. Our waiter brought out beautifully plated dishes but with an expression so cold and disinterested, it ruined the vibe completely. No warmth, no smile — just mechanical service. The food itself wasn’t bad, but the atmosphere and service really tainted the experience.
Midway through, I reminded the hostess about the birthday surprise. She confirmed the name and said they had it noted. But when the dessert arrived — nothing. No message, no effort, just a plain dish dumped on the table. When I complained, they tried to cover it up by offering another dessert “on the house.” Too little, too late.
The entire experience was a letdown. For all the hype this place gets online, the actual service was careless and far from what you'd expect at a place that markets itself as premium. If you’re planning something special — especially a celebration — look elsewhere. Go at...
