AVOID!
Do not come here if you plan to come with children. Not family friendly. And not honest - phone lost.
The true nature of their customer service really shows when you have kids and they favour certain race customers over others. I attended here with a large group, odd 20 of us including the kids.
The restaurant had enough seating to accommodate us. However the table next to us had a cover of 4. All adults. And the moment we sat down the lady signalled to my wife we are too loud. Our baby was crying. This is said to be a family restaurant mind you. We were trying to settle our 7 month old baby, but the lady seemed to be in distress by baby noises. Our full party had not arrived yet. Me and wife apologised and continued to settle our baby. Though-out our meal the lady was giving unpleasant looks due to the noise coming from our party. But as I mentioned we were a party of 20, the restaurant had accepted our cover and we making the accepted level of noise 20 covers would make. We had a toddler with us, 1 year old. Heâs at the active stage and was wondering around with his milk bottle, around our table. He dropped his milk bottle near the nearing table (same table unpleasant lady was sitting). As he went to get his bottle back, the man from the table said can we control the baby and keep it down. I said I am trying but you must understand he is young. He replied but it to much i want peace. So I responded, maybe fine dining or a home dinner might be more suitable. To which he got aggressive towards me in his tone. So I responded to him âbe quite, you canât control our experienceâ. They stood up and shouted across to the owner to come to his support. This is where the customer service really deteriorated. As the owner came over and identified himself and did not attempt to hear us out only the other customer. Iâm not sure what they discussed as both were speaking in their own language but the owner said âyou have no right to speak to him and tell him thisâ. I said you donât know what I said and you havenât heard my voice in the matter. He said âI donât need to they are not evil they are doctorsâ. What does that even mean. In any case, we had finished our meal and weâre trying settle our bill. Yet the owner said please just leave you have no right here. And honestly was babbling towards us. Saying are trying to teach him English. Really bizarre statements. But essentially he decided he will take our money as we were settling our bill and saying youâre no longer welcome here. Others in my party were trying to explain to him what has happened but he just didnât care or want to listen. He obviously had his bias nature in the matter settled. So I advise all in my party not to waste their time, we just have leave this in a google review to inform other potential customers. Our waiter on the other hand was very nice and accommodating, the manager/owner just horrid. As I mentioned the Google review thing, he said he donât care and just get out - which says a lot, especially seen as our taxis hasnât arrived in the middle of UAE summer and half our party were kids. My response to that is, donât bother responding to this review in which case. In my 10 years plus coming to emirates, Iâve never experienced such insolence towards another person, let alone customers. So in summary, avoid this place if youâre ethnic, have a family or value customer service and general human kindness.
The owner is not a nice person, horrid individual and not at all a representation of UAE hospitality. In fact the complete opposite. UAE hospitality from all is amongst the best.
Finally, to top the night off my nephew left his phone there. However, their personal feeling towards us was still apparent. As my sister called to ask the restaurant but they abruptly said no phone here and disconnected the call before she could respond. FYI. Find my iPhone tracked it to the area. So we lost a phone on top of a already...
Read moreCaspian Kabab Restaurant in Dubai boasts 4.4 stars from 570 reviews on Google, all of which were quite positive and made me excited to try the restaurant.
The nearest metro station is Mashreq, which is right between the stops to get to Burj Khalifa and the Marina. The particular area where the restaurant is located is residential. Unless you live here, youâll have to go out of your way.
When I entered, I was greeted by an Iranian waitress who spoke to me in Farsi. She was amazing, consistently checking up on me without being too intruding.
A koobideh dish in Caspian costs 48 Dirhams (ÂŁ10.51), which is reasonable. But my total bill amounted to 68.75 Dirhams (ÂŁ15.07) because of hidden charges that werenât made clear when they were offered. Without me asking, the waitress gave me a bottle of water and told me to get my starters from the salad bar. I assumed they were free â until I saw the bill later.
I wasnât able to finish my meal, leaving a quarter of koobideh and a bit of rice. The koobideh was medium-sized, so it was really the salad bar and the starters that filled me up.
The quality of the food wasnât amazing. Although the koobideh was juicy, it lacked a bit of flavor. The tomato was barely grilled and some of the items from the salad bar were stale. The food wasnât a disaster, but certainly not among the best Iâve had.
The highlight of my visit to Caspian was the service. I enjoyed my dining experience, but I think there are a couple of things it can further improve on.

Read moreExotic. Charming. Romantic. Truly Iranian. This is definitely my favourite place for Iranian food anywhere in Dubai. Without question.
New Yearâs Day in Dubai. Wonderful rainy start to 2022. Brunch was the buffet. Absolutely recommended. A decent spread of salad. Great and sumptuous portions of a variety of delectable grills (kobideh, kababs) saffron rice and traditional okra and meat stew.
Wash it down with a cup of Iranian tea and the only thing youâll yearn for isâŠ.erm. Nothing. Sleep perhaps.
Buffet is a lunch time option. But I highly recommend a dinner as well. Again this is a charming and really exotic place. Not just the food but the ambience is so beautiful.
Give me your âfeedâback after youâve visited. Lol. The pun was accidental ;)
And oh enjoy the wonderful Iranian music while youâre here. Sweet!! As romantic as the lovely Iranian people I have...
