We recently celebrated our Valentine's treat for our staff at Fujiya Downtown and had an incredibly disappointing experience due to their rude and unprofessional service.

Originally, we booked a table for 10 people, but our group increased to 13. From the moment we made the reservation, the staff—especially the first woman who accommodated us and the one who handled our booking—were extremely unwelcoming and unprofessional. It honestly felt like we were being treated poorly just because we are Filipinos. Discrimination has no place in the service industry.

When we arrived, we requested to be seated at a larger table or be moved to a more convenient area upstairs to accommodate our group. Instead of handling this politely, the staff argued with us before finally allowing the change. The entire situation was uncomfortable and frustrating, making us feel like we were a burden rather than valued customers.

While I have to admit that the food and ambiance were good, the attitude and treatment from the staff completely ruined the experience. We've always been well accommodated at Mogiya Al Seef, where the team is professional and respectful. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Fujiya Downtown.

If you only care about food and ambiance, this place is fine, but if you value good customer service and respectful treatment, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere. No paying customer deserves to be treated with such arrogance and disregard.

Disappointing and frustrating experience.

We ordered two set menus — the Shoyu Ramen Set and the Soba Set. Before ordering, I asked twice if it was possible to change the hot soba to cold soba, and the staff member, Johana, said she would check. Eventually, we were served the cold soba and shoyu ramen, but the mini side dishes that were supposed to be included in the sets — tempura, tamagoyaki (rolled egg), and white rice — never arrived, even after we had completely finished our meal.

When I asked about the missing items, Johana returned and said, “Because you changed to cold soba, the set no longer applies.” This explanation made no sense — cold and hot soba are the same price, and I was never informed that switching to cold soba would cancel the set. I asked her to check again, and after a long delay, only a tempura bowl was brought out. The tamagoyaki never came at all.

Given that there was no prior notice about any side dishes being excluded, and even the rice from the other set menu didn’t arrive until after we had finished eating, I’m 100% convinced that the order was entered incorrectly due to staff error.
