My recent stay at the hotel was, unfortunately, a deeply disappointing experience marked by negligence, unprofessional service, and a clear lack of basic hospitality standards. I had made a reservation for five rooms, with clear and repeated requests for higher-floor accommodations two months before the visit. However, upon check-in, we were initially assigned rooms together on the third floor, which is considered the lowest floor in the hotel. When we expressed our dissatisfaction and requested rooms on higher floors as previously noted in our booking, the hotel staff reassigned us to scattered rooms across different floors — without offering any satisfactory solution to address our concerns. This lack of transparency and disregard for guest preferences is unacceptable for any hospitality establishment. The front desk service was particularly concerning. Basic requests for assistance were either ignored or met with unprofessional and dismissive behavior. When we raised these issues with the front desk manager (Mr. Creek), we were met with total indifference. His refusal to take any meaningful action or show any concern about our complaints was not only unhelpful but also completely unacceptable — even by the lowest service standards. While I understand that specific room locations may be subject to availability and cannot always be guaranteed, it is still the hotel's responsibility to clearly communicate this to guests during the booking process. In my case, there was no mention or clarification that my request for rooms on higher floors might not be fulfilled. The complete lack of transparency and failure to manage expectations is what made this experience particularly frustrating, especially when specific requests have been made. Not only was this communication completely absent, but our requests were also blatantly disregarded without apology or justification. This level of service reflects a failure in every aspect of hospitality. Adding to our dissatisfaction, in one of the rooms, the coffee corner had clearly not been cleaned after the previous guest's stay. There were sticky milk residues and an overall unhygienic condition that was wholly inappropriate. In addition, the room lacked the basic coffee and tea amenities, which, after being requested, took over 30 minutes to be delivered. Additionally, one aspect that further impacted our experience was the accessibility to Dubai Mall. Contrary to expectations, walking to the mall takes over 20 minutes, and the connecting internal gate to the hotel closes at midnight. This meant that after a late-night movie, for instance, we had to walk outside and re-enter through the main hotel entrance — which was inconvenient and uncomfortable. That said, I do wish to recognize one bright spot in our experience. After our repeated complaints, the situation began to improve — and that is entirely thanks to the evening shift supervisor, Mr. Bilal. His professionalism, attentiveness, and commitment to resolving our concerns were truly commendable. He listened carefully, prioritized guest satisfaction, and did everything in his capacity to turn our experience around. Notably, he went the extra mile by upgrading one of our rooms, which we deeply appreciated. If there is anyone at the hotel deserving of praise, it is undoubtedly Bilal.
