Dearest Readers,
This correspondent, ever in pursuit of the city's most intriguing havens, recently found himself within the walls of Kulture House, nestled in the heart of Jumeirah. And what a curious experience it proved to be!
The very air within hums with a certain je ne sais quoi, an understated elegance that whispers rather than shouts. One finds oneself enveloped in a tapestry of tasteful décor, each element thoughtfully placed, contributing to an atmosphere of refined tranquility. The architects of this establishment have clearly wielded their craft with considerable skill, for the ample space possesses a peculiar magic, an illusion of vastness that belies its true dimensions. Indeed, the placement of tables is nothing short of brilliant, affording each patron a sense of both connection and delightful solitude.
But it is not merely the tangible that captivates. Nay, dear readers, for within these walls resides a veritable sorcerer of the bean and the brew. I speak, of course, of Arhaam, the barista. This is no mere purveyor of caffeinated concoctions; he is an alchemist of flavour, a maestro of the mixing glass. His knowledge is not simply recited; it is lived, and he imparts his wisdom with a helpfulness and conversational charm that is as refreshing as a summer breeze.
Now, this author confesses a certain… aversion. A reluctance, if you will, towards the verdant bitterness of matcha. It is a taste this palate has yet to embrace, a flavour profile that remains stubbornly outside my chosen repertoire. Yet, such is the persuasive power of this Arhaam, that upon his earnest recommendation of a mango matcha latte – a proposition I initially met with considerable skepticism – I found myself accepting the gauntlet. Consider it a challenge laid down, and one, I am delighted to report, that was met with resounding triumph. This elixir, this unexpected symphony of sweet and subtly earthy notes, has converted this doubter. Arhaam, my dear readers, possesses a magic all his own.
While the coffers may feel a touch lighter upon departure, this author hesitates to cast judgment just yet. For such artistry, such an experience, may well warrant a closer consideration of its worth. Until our next dispatch from the city's hidden corners,
Yours in anticipation,
A...
Read moreBeen here few times and liked the place but yesterday I got pretty shocked with the level of consideration of the staff. It’s been a while since I saw such a lack of customer service trainings for the staff in a place located in Jumeirah. Apart from one of the waiters chatting to a lady sitting next to me for 15+ mins and loud enough for me to change my place (same waiter did the same exact thing last time I came. Do they understand they are at work?) Then I asked if I could pray anywhere in the place and staff said I could use their fitting room. While I was praying it was extremely hot till the point I almost fainted. Once I finished I rushed out and realized the door outside right beside the fitting room was open while it’s 40+ outside and hot air blows into room with AC on at a high speed (that’s how physics works based on different pressure of the air). If I need to explain it, bending your head to the ground while praying and experiencing hot air blowing directly to your face causing extra BP fluctuation same time can be very risky. While I was catching the breath and complaining, one of the staff said “sorry, we don’t have a prayer room”. Excuse me? That’s the reaction when I’m barely standing? When I pointed at the open door, he said “it opened on its own”. What? I went to the restroom to cool down and no one said a word once I went out 10 mins later. No one asked if I need a doctor nor offered me to sit and have a water or at least said sorry for not putting attention. First time in my life to see this kind of awkwardly indifferent customer service who have just escaped ER situation. Wow. What’s the point of “here is your coffee, mam”? I hope management reads it and understands how close they were to some serious problems due to simple lack of staff trainings. Absolutely for sure not coming back again regardless of menu or...
Read moreI recently had the opportunity to visit Kulture House Cafe during their special Miu Miu collaboration pop-up, and while the experience was mostly positive, there were a few areas that fell short.
Let's start with the positives - the Miu Miu x Kulture House concept was absolutely brilliant. The cafe was decked out in Miu Miu's signature aesthetic, creating a stylish and Instagram-worthy ambiance. The collaboration felt fresh, unique, and perfectly timed for the Ramadan season. As a fashion and design enthusiast, I thoroughly enjoyed immersing myself in this elevated dining experience.
The coffee itself was also quite good - the baristas clearly knew their craft and were able to produce expertly crafted beverages. I particularly enjoyed the signature Miu Miu-inspired coffee drinks that were part of the limited-time menu.
However, the service throughout my visit left something to be desired. While the staff were friendly enough, they seemed a bit disorganized and occasionally inattentive. Simple requests were not always handled in a timely manner, which detracted slightly from the overall experience.
Additionally, while the Miu Miu decor was stunning, the seating area felt a bit cramped and crowded, especially during peak hours. It was challenging to fully relax and enjoy the atmosphere.
Overall, Kulture House Cafe's Miu Miu collaboration was a unique and visually appealing pop-up that any fashion or design enthusiast would appreciate. The coffee quality was also excellent. But the service and seating issues prevented it from being a truly flawless experience, hence the...
