We recently had the pleasure of dining at Sakhalin Dubai, and it left a lasting impression from the moment we arrived. First Impressions: The design and furniture of the venue immediately caught our attention, showcasing a high level of quality and attention to detail. The ambiance was inviting and set the tone for an enjoyable dining experience. Menu Variety: The menu offered a delightful array of options, making it easy to find something for everyone. Each dish we tasted was not only delicious but also beautifully presented, elevating our dining experience. The attention to flavor and aesthetics clearly reflects the culinary expertise at Sakhalin. Drink Selection: While we enjoyed the drink menu, we did notice a lack of "casual" champagne options, which could enhance the overall experience, particularly for those seeking a more laid-back vibe. Expanding the drink selection in this area could be beneficial. Desserts: The desserts were a standout part of our meal. Each sweet treat was nothing short of excellent, providing a perfect conclusion to our dining experience. Staff Service: The staff were very friendly and attentive, contributing positively to our experience. However, we observed a slight language barrier, as some staff members had limited English proficiency. Nonetheless, their hospitality and eagerness to assist were evident, which made for a pleasant interaction. Music Experience: One aspect that could use some refinement was the music selection. While we enjoyed the festive Christmas tunes, the sound from the neighboring restaurant, African Queen, was occasionally distracting. A more cohesive soundscape focused on the dining experience at Sakhalin could enhance the overall atmosphere. Conclusion: Overall, we had a fantastic time at Sakhalin Dubai and would certainly consider returning. The quality of both food and service, alongside the inviting atmosphere, makes it a noteworthy destination in Dubai's dining scene. With a few adjustments, our next visit could be even...

I visited Sakhalin Dubai (J1 Beach, formerly La Mer South) — and it’s exactly what you’d expect from a White Rabbit Family project. Classy, relaxed, and well-executed.
🌊 Location & Vibe Set right by the water, surrounded by other fine dining restaurants along a small bay — calm, elegant, and nicely detached from the city rush. The design is minimalist and tasteful, nothing over the top — comfortable to dine, stylish but not trying too hard. The beach area looks neat, good landscaping, and overall feels premium. However, changing rooms are tiny — just one for men and one for women, basically for one person at a time.
🍽️ Food & Drinks The food is excellent — a refined seafood-fusion mix with Asian and Mediterranean notes. Everything is beautifully plated, ingredients are top quality. You’ll notice all the luxury touches — branded Sakhalin towels, elegant tableware, everything done with taste. Prices are definitely on the higher end 💸, especially alcohol, but that’s expected for this level.
💁♀️ Service & Details Service is attentive and friendly — very “White Rabbit” style: professional but relaxed. In the showers — Acqua di Parma toiletries, Dyson hairdryers, everything spotless and fresh. Feels like a proper five-star beach club, but without arrogance.
⚖️ A Few Cons – Small changing rooms 🚪 – Pricey drinks 🍸 – Overall, everything’s high-quality, but not quite “wow” — more like a solid, polished luxury spot than a game-changer.
✨ Final Thoughts Sakhalin Dubai is one of those balanced, well-made premium places where everything works — great food, great vibe, great service. You come here not to be impressed, but to feel comfortable, cared for, and...
Read moreI absolutely love this restaurant in Moscow. And finally found the time to check it in Dubai. It’s insanely beautiful, both inside and out. The food is magical, all the raw fish literally melts in your mouth, everything is super fresh - no complaints there, absolute perfection 👏🏼
But the staff completely ruined the impression. At the entrance, the host told my husband that after a certain time they have an “elegant” dress code, which we obviously knew. He was wearing a white shirt and white linen long shorts (up to his knees) - we live in Dubai, that’s normal summer wear, and our table was booked outside, right by the sand. Then the host had the nerve to ask if my husband had something else to change into, or maybe could drive home and change. Are you serious? I’ve never experienced such arrogance in any restaurant, ever. We spent time in traffic just to get there because I’d hyped this place up so much to my husband.
Obviously, after that he was already irritated - and it got worse. The waiter basically ignored us just because he couldn’t understand my husband’s accent, so we waited over 20 minutes for our drinks even though we were sitting right by the bar, and the place wasn’t even full. Later, they finally sent us a nice girl who took care of us properly.
And to top it off, we couldn’t get the bill for another 20-30 minutes. There were two waiters right next to us, we waved, we called - they were too busy having a “deep conversation”.
I get that things happen, but this is not the level of service that matches your restaurant’s standard. The food and atmosphere are truly outstanding - but the service needs serious...
