I will Post and Honest Review – Not a Paid Review or Defamation
We had a pretty horrible experience staying at Hotel Rove La Mer in Jumeirah. We faced several issues related to the staff behavior, inconsistent rules, and poor management, which I am sharing below in detail:
Pool Entry Incident
My wife and I checked in for a weekend staycation on a Saturday and were informed that the check-in time was 4:00 PM, which we found acceptable. The staff told us that while we waited, we could use the swimming pool and beach. So we changed into our swimwear and headed to the pool.
To our surprise, the pool guards didn’t allow us to enter, stating we weren’t wearing proper swim attire. While I understood their concern about my attire, my wife was wearing a proper, non-cotton swimsuit, yet they still denied her entry. We didn’t argue at first, but then we noticed other people inside the pool wearing cotton clothes. When we questioned the guards about it, they said, “We didn’t see them.” Seriously?
After we raised our voices, they finally realized that those individuals were also violating the rules and asked them to step out. This clearly shows that they apply different rules for different people, which is unfair.
When we approached the floor manager, one of the guards followed us and whispered something to him. The manager was extremely rude and tried to defend the guard. He even claimed there was no one in the pool at that time—which makes no sense, because if there was no one, why were others asked to leave after our complaint?
We could have easily taken a photo or video of the incident, but we respected others’ privacy. The manager said he would check the CCTV footage and take action—but we’re sure that never happened. Instead, they lied straight to our faces, which was extremely disappointing.
Room Upgrade and Birthday Decoration Issue
We had requested a simple birthday decoration in the room for my wife’s birthday. They accepted the request and started preparing it. But around 3:45 PM, the floor manager returned and said we were being shifted to another room with a sea view upgrade.
We were confused—our original room was ready and already being decorated. He insisted that it would take longer and that this upgrade was for our convenience. We reluctantly agreed.
But the new room turned out to be disappointing. The “sea view” was nothing special and faced an ongoing construction site. Our earlier room had a beautiful pool and beach view, and we asked to be moved back. But they told us that room was already given to someone else. This completely ruined the mood and spoiled my wife’s birthday
Private Beach Timings
Another strange policy—the private beach closes at 7:00 PM! What’s the point of paying extra for a beachside property if you can’t access the beach in the evening? Even free public beaches in Dubai are open until 11 PM. For a moment, we felt like we were in some kind of restricted zone, not a vacation spot.
Final Thoughts
We are not here to promote or degrade anyone. We are just sharing our honest experience. While some staff members were nice, a few clearly lied, mishandled situations, and ruined what was supposed to be a special day for us.
We’re not saying don’t visit this hotel—that’s your decision. But based on what we went through, we definitely would not recommend Rove La Mer to anyone. It was truly a disappointing and...
Read moreMy stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing. I arrived after a very long flight, reaching the hotel at around 6:00 a.m. I requested from the front desk employee, Ali, to assign me a quiet room since I was utterly exhausted and in desperate need of rest. Unfortunately, he placed me in a very noisy room directly overlooking ongoing construction work next to the hotel.
The situation did not end there. To my surprise, I discovered that there was no hot water in the bathroom and no internet service. When I asked the staff to resolve the issue, I was informed that there was a technical problem with the hot water system in my room, which required shutting it off completely. If that was the case, why was I assigned this room in the first place?
Furthermore, I was shocked when my guest was denied the ability to contact my room on the grounds that it was “too early in the morning,” even though she had arrived at 9:30 a.m. for a scheduled meeting. She eventually left without meeting me, which caused me considerable embarrassment.
Another unpleasant experience occurred the following morning when I went to the restaurant for breakfast. The restaurant was overcrowded, and I was asked to provide my room number to wait for my turn to enter. I waited for a very long time—almost half an hour—without success, and eventually had to return to my room and take my breakfast outside the hotel. To make matters worse, the water pressure in the bathroom was extremely weak.
Without going into further detail, I must candidly state that my entire experience at this hotel was highly unsatisfactory—from the moment I checked in until the moment I left. I believe there is a clear management issue that allows such disorganization to persist. Overall, I would strongly advise against staying...

Rove La Mer Beach is a modern, vibrant, and budget-friendly hotel that captures the lively spirit of Dubai’s La Mer waterfront. The location is unbeatable—right on the beachfront with endless options for dining, cafés, and shopping just steps away.
The design is playful and youthful, with cozy, well-planned rooms that, while compact, are clean and comfortable. Many offer stunning views of the sea or the Dubai skyline. The facilities are a big plus: a beautiful pool overlooking the water, a 24-hour gym, and fun shared spaces like a cinema-style room and co-working area.
What really stands out, though, is the service. The staff go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable, and I’d like to give a special mention to James. His friendliness, professionalism, and genuine care made the experience memorable—he truly embodies the warm and welcoming spirit of the hotel.
Pros:
Prime location at La Mer Beach
Trendy design and clean, comfortable rooms
Excellent facilities (pool, gym, cinema, co-working space)
Great value for money
Exceptional staff—especially James, who made the stay extra special
