I recently had the pleasure of dining at Zou Zou Turkish and Lebanese Restaurant in Jumeirah Dubai, and I must say it was an unforgettable experience. Located in a casual yet chic neighborhood, just minutes away from Jumeirah Beach, the restaurant offers a welcoming and relaxed ambiance.
From the moment I entered, I was greeted with a friendly reception, and Miss Firdaous welcomed me with a beautiful smile. The staff's warm hospitality set the tone for the entire dining experience.
When it comes to the food, I must say that Zou Zou is the best Middle Eastern restaurant I have visited in the UAE and ranks among the best I have ever experienced. The dishes were a perfect blend of exotic ingredients, creating a symphony of flavors that left me thoroughly impressed.
Throughout my meal, the servers, Mr. Adel and Ms. Priya, ensured that I was well taken care of. They were attentive, always on hand to provide any assistance I needed, and kept me updated on the spot. Following Mr. Adel's recommendation, I tried the delightful Turkish dessert, Katmer, expertly served by Mr. Ahmed. This crispy pancake filled with pistachios and clotted cream was a true delight. The presentation was accompanied by a small ceremony, with a large knife and pistachios sprinkled generously over the dessert.
The main dishes were equally impressive. I opted for the mixed grill, which arrived in a small traditional Turkish oven. The flavors were outstanding, complemented by freshly baked bread and a generous serving of delicious tabbouleh salad. The combination was so satisfying that I left the restaurant feeling content and with a desire to walk and digest the wonderful meal.
I cannot conclude this review without mentioning the branch manager, Mr. Ashraf, whose presence and friendly demeanor elevated my overall dining experience. He made sure to provide an approachable and welcoming environment, taking the time to connect not only as a customer but as someone who would be welcomed back in the future.
In summary, Zou Zou Turkish and Lebanese Restaurant in Jumeirah Dubai exceeded my expectations. From the friendly reception and exceptional food taste to the attentive service provided by the servers and the delightful dessert served with a touch of showmanship, every aspect of the dining experience was top-notch. Special thanks to Mr. Ashraf for making my visit truly memorable. I highly recommend Zou Zou and look forward to returning in the...
Read moreStepping into Zouzou is like being transported to a vibrant culinary haven, but it’s their breakfast that truly steals the show. Having indulged in both the Turkish and Arabic breakfast platters, I can confidently say this isn’t just a meal—it’s an unforgettable experience that sets a new standard for a morning feast.
The Turkish breakfast platter is a work of art. It arrives as a magnificent tapestry of flavors and textures, a true testament to the richness of Turkish cuisine. Each component is a discovery, from the creamy, fresh mix of cheeses to the perfect balance of sweet and savory with honey, cream, and jam. The succulent Turkish sujuk is a revelation—rich, savory, and cooked to absolute perfection. Paired with warm, pillowy bread and a delightful medley of dried fruits and olives, every bite is a joyful celebration.
But then, there's the Arabic breakfast, which shines with its own unique brilliance. This platter is a generous spread of traditional staples that feel both authentic and elevated. The creamy hummus and flavourful falafel are executed flawlessly, while the crispy fried eggs and hearty fava beans make for a comforting and satisfying start to the day. The inclusion of tangy labneh, Shanklish, and an assortment of fresh fruits and vegetables adds a refreshing contrast, proving that Zouzou has mastered the art of balance.
What truly sets Zouzou's breakfast apart is the sheer generosity and quality. These aren't small plates; they are abundant platters designed to be shared and savored, easily enough to satisfy two people with a hearty appetite. Every element, down to the last piece of cheese and the last spoonful of jam, is meticulously prepared and presented with care. It’s an immersive, authentic, and utterly delicious experience that I cannot recommend...
Read moreAmazing food but extremely disappointing service and poor accessibility
Visited Zouzou in Jumeirah recently, and while the food was truly exceptional, the overall experience was let down by the poor service and lack of attention to customer needs.
The mutton chops were perfectly seasoned and cooked, the mix grill was flavorful and juicy, and the beef ribs were incredibly tender and rich – easily the highlight of the meal. We also ordered the mutton shoulder with saffron rice, which was beautifully presented and tasted just as good. No doubt, the kitchen team knows what they're doing.
However, the service was frustratingly slow and careless. We waited far too long for our food with no updates or apologies. Staff seemed overwhelmed and lacked basic customer service awareness – no one checked in during the meal, water refills had to be asked for multiple times, and there was no sense of urgency or hospitality. It felt like the focus was only on food delivery, not the overall dining experience.
Additionally, while the interior is stylish and comfortable, the washrooms being located upstairs is a serious flaw – especially for elderly guests or anyone with mobility issues. There’s no accessible option, which is something the management really needs to consider.
Zouzou has great potential because of its food, but the management must seriously invest in training staff, improving service quality, and addressing basic customer comfort and accessibility. Until then, it’s a great place for takeaway, but not ideal for a relaxed...
