We tried this place for the first time as we were craving for a good breakfast with a view. As we arrived we were greeted by the hostess and guided to the available tables . The restaurant had few occupied table as it was not busy. I asked the lady if any tables were available by the window, and to my surprise she answered “can you see if any tables are available? All are full” definitely not the response from a hospitality staff. We then took the table in the middle of the restaurant which was good too.
We are attended by a Sachin (I think I am Right ) I ordered for Shakshuka, fried egg for my wife and Waffles for my son. Plates were placed for us which were stone cold also not forgetting the very windy weather with windows open which make it even worse. Food came in and was well flavored however, the presentation was not close to expectation. I had ordered a side of bacon and to my surprise I got one piece of bacon ( never seen that in my 19 years of hospitality career) I asked the server is this right and he said for a portion they serve only one. Obviously it was not informed to me but then it can be the standard portion for the place. I had asked for sour dough bread with Shakshuka however it was not served. When asked the server he said he missed it and that don’t have sourdough.
My server then never came to my table and I was looked after by Camille who was very helpful and courteous.
The place got busy by 11:30 and clearly the manning was not enough to manage the place. The staff were all around without management. There was a food order issue next to my table and the server was shouting to other server on who had taken the order and then was joined by a gang of other servers to clarify the issue speaking loudly in their regional language.
The place is wonderful with good food and beverage options. Just need a proper management and customer service rest is all great.
Special mention to the housekeeping lady who without fail wished us while we came in...
Read moreFive-Star Review for Babu and Merino
I recently had the pleasure of dining at your restaurant, and I must say, the experience was truly exceptional—thanks in large part to the outstanding service provided by Babu and Merino.
From the moment we walked in, Babu greeted us with a warm and genuine smile that immediately made us feel welcome. He was attentive without being intrusive and handled everything with such professionalism and care. His knowledge of the menu, recommendations, and timing were spot on. He made sure that every detail was perfect, and it was clear he genuinely cared about giving us a memorable experience.
Merino, equally impressive, brought such positive energy and warmth to our table. His friendly demeanor and prompt service added to the enjoyable atmosphere. He was incredibly courteous, checking in at just the right moments, and making sure we had everything we needed. His passion for hospitality truly shines through in everything he does.
Together, Babu and Merino created an unforgettable dining experience. Their teamwork, efficiency, and personal touch made us feel like valued guests rather than just customers. It’s rare to find service that feels both professional and heartfelt, and they delivered on both counts beautifully.
I deeply appreciate their hard work, kindness, and attention to detail. They are both true assets to your team and deserving of every bit of recognition. I’ll definitely be returning—and recommending this place to friends—largely because of the fantastic impression they left on me.
Thank you once again, Babu and Merino, for making our visit so...
Read moreI have always considered this restaurant one of the best in Dubai — from the stunning location and diverse, delicious menu to the exceptional staff, especially Mr. Yaser Abbasi, who has consistently been outstanding.and the best there
However, today’s experience left me deeply disappointed. I had already made a reservation with the receptionist and then requested to speak with the manager to arrange something special for the occasion. She asked me to hold, and I waited for more than two minutes before she came back to say the manager was busy and would contact me later.
Two hours passed with no response, so I tried reaching the manager on his direct number (which I received from other staff members), but he didn’t reply to my message. As a loyal guest with a confirmed reservation under my name, this lack of attention made me feel completely unvalued and disrespected.
My call was clearly regarding a confirmed booking and a special request — in such cases, I believe priority should be given. Later, the receptionist called to confirm the reservation. I told her to kindly cancel it, explaining that I was still waiting to hear from the manager. Her response was simply, “Okay, I’ll cancel it.”
This was very upsetting. What was supposed to be a special evening turned into a frustrating experience. I’m sharing this not out of anger, but out of disappointment. I hope the management takes this seriously and ensures better communication and respect for their...
