Read moreI wanted to try the iranian cuisine for the 1st time , and after this experience, i think i will never try it again. I went with my friend and adked the menu , actually the menu is like a big book which doesn't explain exactly what you will eat or the portion or even a clear pictures of the food. We asked for a meal for 2 ... the waiter said they have something called sewer which is enough for 2 . first they put a complement yoghurt and cheeze with sliced cucumber and tomato which are not even mixed , you can just get that from any grocery, then came the main meal that we ordered , its like a piece of kabab , 3 small pieces of fish and lamb ribs , which is served with 3 types of rice. I thought the amout was too small for 2 big guys to consume , i asked for another plate, thats what I regret because we didn't taste yet. Once i tasted , the fish was so fishy , the kabab full of fat and the ribs not well seasoned The rice was bland , all 3 types tasted almost the same 😏 I asked the waiter to cancel the other order , this was just 2 minutes after i ordered , he told me that they already started preparing. I asked for a plate of fries instead of the rice and chicken instead of the fish , which also disappointed me. The price was too much for such small portion , even the atmosphere was so off. Overall I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone , I would never go their again. If i can rate by less than 1...
Read moreI have heard many things about this restaurant, being one of the oldest establishments in old dubai and is known for its authentic Iranian cuisine.... but unfortunately I was very disappointed.
Arrival - Don't bother driving towards the valet, the queue is long. You're better off at the paid parking.
Me and my family have been welcomed and seated with no issues. However, our preferences on seating have not been met as the seats were booked... since the whole time we were there.. those extra tables were never occupied.
The chairs are not comfortable, the tables are small for their serving platters and dishes we have ordered.
By the time the food arrived... i'm sorry to say but i have had better. Nothing about it seemed authentic and it lacks flavour and uniqueness. With its presentation, the price of the Shabestan Speciallty Platter at AED 798/- was extortionate and basically day light robbery. I will understand if the dish lived up to its expectations... but alas it did not.
Don't get me started with the Bamia... we asked to remove the lamp and we have still been charged for for AED 118... Its basically just okra and tomato sauce at this point... so why charge me for it.
The ONLY good experience i have in the restaurant was the Customer Service of the waitress that served us.
In the end, this is just my opinion, family were not too happy as well. Will definitely not come...
