The food variety was very limited, and I don't feel highly thrilled about it! The reason is that when we saw the phrase "Sushi and Teppanyaki themed night" under this restaurant's name online, which made us head over to the branch while dreaming about finding sushi heaven on our way there, where we were faced with our biggest disappointment! Especially considering that the regular price point is 199 dirhams per person at their buffet of theirs. I've been before to other sushi buffets with lower price charging per person and found better sushi selections in flavors and sophistication than this. They barely had salmon and crabs in their limited selection of sushi rolls and no salmon sashimi, as most of their rolls are made with either tuna or vegetarian. You guys can take a quick look yourself on my account and you will find yourself that sushi 🍣 is one of my top food cravings. Their Teppanyaki flavor varieties though were passable and their desserts were okay.
Also, we faced some very uncomfortable situations with another customer who when we handled the food picker in their hand as sort of a sweet and polite gesture which came automatically from me, to be honest, instead of returning my kind gesture with a good one, it was returned with a horrible attitude from the other customer which got me sad, in tears and angry. Due to the staff's negative reaction to the situation from which they started blaming me instead of comforting me as a customer, I told their manager about how I was about to place a really bad review as a reflection of our overall disastrous experience. When I informed their highest manager that I was going to place a good review and informed him that now I'm thinking of swapping the good review with a bad one, he straightforwardly threatened me of reporting me to the Dubai police if I give them a bad review or try to ruin their image publicly which, to be honest, got me so scared and disappointed, because think about it. What benefit am I even getting from damaging some company's reputation? Yes, he apologized to me at the end on the behalf of the customer and himself in case if he told me anything that hurt me, however it was too late though because my day was ruined along with the loss of my appetite.
Anyway, the reason behind me giving unfiltered reviews full of transparency and honesty is because I try my level best to make other people see what I saw and feel what I felt from happiness and pains, so they wouldn't have to go through the pains that I've been through themselves and only get to enjoy the positive and happy side of my...
Read moreSurprisingly bad. The sushi was not good at all. Not enough variety and the actual size of the sushi is too large. Have a look at the dessert. Dry as a desert and not fresh at all. The waitress brought out the dessert and you could feel the cold temperature of the plate itself, clearly, the desserts are not fresh, possibly made the day before and refrigerated with the plate and entire arrangement. The sashimi pieces as well were very large. Also the arrangement of the tables in the restaurant is weird and seems haphazard. There are two tables right in the entry way that nobody would want to sit in. Then there is a seating area on the left which is arranged one way, then another on the right that is arranged differently and awkwardly. When you go to the buffet area, you have pass trough this odd passageway with one table there. Who designed this layout? The sushi counter is in one place, then the buffet is in another, and in both the service is terrible. When I went to the sushi counter, the chef with his back turned was working on some other paperwork and when I went for the buffet, there was no waiter or anybody there to help serve me (Since I cannot take on my own due to COVID rules). Additionally, there is no staff at the entrance to help find you a seat. You sort of just wander in all the way to people dining and look around and maybe you will run into a waiter. This place is painfully understaffed and the quality has naturally suffered. Another problem I had was that a particular waiter would every now and then emerge from the kitchen, go over to a family sitting near our table and converse with them at length, very loudly, making it hard for me to hear the conversation of the guest sitting literally at...
Read moreWe visited Minato yesterday to celebrate my dad/my best friend's birthday. He was trying sushi for the first time. He was little hesitant when we arrived but we were first to arrive and were greeted warmly. He said the lights are very less so I told him mostly Japanese restaurants have dim lights. He said the ambience was very friendly, warm & inviting.
The food was very nice though my father didn't like everything he tried but overall he was happy. He mentioned that the juices were not so nice. He tried mango, orange & pineapple juices. He enjoyed the tempuras but said they had less salt. He tried the cucumber sushi & the fish egg sushi. He said the fish egg sushi had too much salt though I didn't find it that salty.
The servers Leonie, Ivy & Shipon were very attentive, friendly, warm and welcoming. I liked the tempuras, tepenyaki & sushi very much. Tempuras were crisp, tepenyaki was hot & tasty and sushi was fresh and without fishy smell. The prawns were throughly clean & fresh. My dad was worried whether the black thread is removed or not from the prawns which the servers confirmed were removed. That made him happy. There was no smoked salmon sashimi. It would have been nice to have it. I didn't like chicken karage that much. The ice tea was nice & refreshing. We forgot to try out the soups & rice. Dessert variety was less only 3 but the mousse was tasty. The fresh fruit salad was very cold but not bad.
At the end they served a set of carrot finger cakes for my dad's birthday which were delicious. They even sang a birthday song for him. My father rarely smiles but yesterday's experience made him smile so thank you soo soo much. I would definitely like to...
