Very nice and an expected visit (I intended to go somewhere else, found it closed and ended up trying Cando Restaurant) 😊
Pros: Location is in the middle of a very vital shopping area, yet it is somehow isolated from the noise so it is a nice choice if you are doing shopping and need a good break then continuing shopping without needing to leave the area. If you are just visiting the restaurant, location is also perfect, it's isolation from the surrounding activities is calming, yet is has both indoor and outdoor seating to give you the choice. Design is so beautiful and simple with signature touch. Staff is amazingly friendly, first time visit, never been there before, I came in a busy time and yet felt like this is my everyday destination 😊 The food, simply put... Yummy! Yummy! Yummy! Prices are fairly reasonable and you'd never expect this price bracket from a place with such ambient and quality. Sheesha lovers would enjoy the fact that they serve sheesha.
Cons: Honestly couldn't find one... Maybe the fact that it is in between buildings make it a bit of a challenge to find it (if you consider this as a negative point). Parking, being in a busy shopping area is a bit scares but I was lucky to visit in a day where I was using the metro so didn't face this issue at all.
Oh, it's 3-5 minutes walk from the metro station, forgot to mention this is the...
Read moreWas in the Deira area and fancied Iranian food so went to Cando restaurant after seeing the reviews online. We ordered Zeytoon, Mirza Ghassemi and Kashk bademjoon for our starters. They brought us 2 breads and also gave us cheese and sabzi (I assume complimentary but not sure). For mains we ordered koobideh with tadig and Ghorme sabzi with tadig. Finally for dessert we gor Faloodeh and Bastani. For drink we had 2 small bottles of water.
The Mirza Ghassemi looked very red, a lot redder than it should be, but tastewise it was nice. The Ghorme sabzi tasted nice and homely. For the dessert they actually brought out freshly squeezed lemon juice which was a nice touch.
The tadig was a bit of a let down to be honest, it was undercooked and disappointing.
The only critism I have is they served the starters and literally 2 minutes later the maina came out. Ideally the mains should come out towards the end of the starters and not immediately after. We ended up skipping starters and going straight to mains. Otherwise the service was good and the lady serving us was friendly.
The total bill came to 220dhs.
I would recommend Candoo restaurant for sure and will...
Read moreCando Restaurant in Dubai has quickly become one of my top picks for Persian food in the city. Located on the Deira side, this spot offers authentic Iranian cooking that really hits the mark. The food is full of traditional flavors; I tried the meat and rice, and both were incredibly tasty and well-prepared. The ayran was especially memorable—smooth, creamy, and pure buttermilk, just the way it should be.
The menu is extensive, with a wide variety of Persian dishes to choose from, so there’s plenty to explore on repeat visits. The restaurant itself is very comfortable, and I was happy to see that the smoking and non-smoking sections are well-separated. Often, you’ll still get a whiff of smoke even in the “non-smoking” areas of some places, but here, the separation is effective, making for a much more pleasant dining experience.
With delicious food, friendly service, and a thoughtfully arranged dining space, Cando is definitely a place I’ll return to when I’m craving genuine Persian...
