A classic if ever there was one such. Last night I attended my first Zomato meet up in this restaurant which has history intertwined with the city of Dubai. The chef here is a legend who is associated with the best of the best master chefs of the world and globe trotting everywhere to judge and spread the good food all over. There were other excellent chefs too who whipped up a mean dish anytime. We were welcomed heartily by our host from Zomato Ms.Pallavi and Ms.Zara along with the team from Radisson Blu. It's on the creekside of the building with long wall to wall glass windows which looked on the magnificent Creek and baniyas road- a brilliant position. The interiors were exotic Polynesian with bamboo thatched false roof and bamboo chairs- makes you rush into holiday mood instantaneously. All the Fish and seafood items were displayed prominently on ice and they prepare the food just the way you want it with the sauce most suitable for it. Very Thai Vietnam style. Options of daily catches, meal for 2 or 4 are also there. Starting from 150- 400 range. Lovely selections of wide ranging wines and alcohol are also available. The servers and waitresses were lovely, welcoming and had very genuine smiles and extremely helpful in nature. Was very impressed. Immediately we started our party time by different juices and mojito and wonderful wines from the cellar. The first up was a guessing game of assessing the ingredients of a non veg and veg salad. We were blindfolded and it was fun. My score was -1 and +3 respectively. The winner had a gift cheque of 1000 dhs worth of dinner here. Then we went into the starters of French fries- nice soft inside and crispy outside with just the optimum amount of salt in it. The Garlic cheese breads were drool worthy and crispy on the outside, the bread were smallish and fresh. Then we had the huge Tiger prawns in garlic lemon butter sauce- in spite of the size being mega impressive it was bit bland for my taste. The deep fried calamari were the show stoppers- not the chewy rubbery stuff, rather soft and delectable - definitely fresh. Now up for the second game- we were given choices of fish fillets and prawns to be cooked with wide variety of vegetables and an array of sauces- Thai red chilli, lemon butter garlic, oyster, soy, plum, sweet chilli etc. After the dishes were cooked and judged, the winner got a gift cheque for 1000 dhs again. Then we delved in the main course which started with grilled with herb Halwa fish followed by Lobster in red Thai chilli sauce- a superb item for me, but many of my co-foodies thought it was too spicy. Then we had butter pepper prawns- decent taste, followed by fish in red Thai sauce which looked yellow though- this was a bit more spicy with lightly fried fish- much to my liking. Finally the scallop with lemon butter sauce- it got the votes of my lady foody colleagues but not mine. I had a lovely orange juice by this time- fresh and tangy. The third game for dessert was awesome fun- we were briefed about it by the very knowledgeable Sri Lankan chef from the Japanese kitchen and we jumped into making our own fruit sushis. I was damn thrilled- thought I made a pretty decent one. I had a lovely virgin mojito then and got the supremely photogenic Mango mousse with pineapple chunks and coconut crunches and salted caramel sauce with plum sauce. The evening passed gloriously and we forgot the time- wished fondly if it could continue forever. All of us made lot of friends and had huge fun. A place to savour again again and again....
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at The Fish Market in Deira, Dubai, and I can confidently say it was one of the best seafood experiences I’ve ever had!
From the moment we arrived, the vibrant atmosphere combined with the enticing aromas of fresh seafood set the perfect stage for a memorable meal. The unique concept of picking your own seafood directly from the display is not only fun but ensures that everything served is as fresh as can be. I selected a mix of jumbo prawns, hammour, and a succulent lobster, all of which were grilled to perfection!
The standout feature for me was the option to customize your dish. The wide selection of fresh vegetables and tasty sauces gave me complete control over my meal, allowing me to create something truly special. The cold seafood cocktail bar was equally impressive, showcasing a delightful variety of items on ice.
To complement our meal, we enjoyed some refreshing customized mocktails and freshly squeezed juices. The drinks were vibrant and flavorful, adding just the right touch to our dining experience.
Service at The Fish Market was top-notch. Our server was not only friendly but also incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, making some excellent recommendations. The manager checked in frequently, ensuring our dining experience was smooth and enjoyable.
The live entertainment and gorgeous view of the creek enhanced the ambiance, making it a fantastic place to dine with friends or family.
Overall, I highly recommend The Fish Market for anyone looking for a delicious seafood feast in Dubai. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, this place is a must-visit! Can't wait to return for another...
Read moreWorst experience I ever had in a restaurant in Dubai. I am surprise how this restaurant is having good reviews from everyone. I was advised to go to this restaurant by my brother. So I called them inquiring about the food and to make reservations. The guy on the phone told me that they have all you can eat sea food. And he added drinks to my package. So I booked and we drove from Dubai Marina to this restaurant which is in the other part of Dubai "Deira" 30 minutes away from my home. As soon as we arrived , there was no one welcoming us and we waited for couple of minutes until a chef from the pub beside the restaurant welcomed us and he told us to go inside. So after couple of minutes the waitress welcomed us and guided us to the table. Then she guided us to select the fish and here was the shocking news. We only can select from limited fish and seafood items. The other good seafood items are ala carte. And what shocked us more that all the good items such as tiger shrimps. Hamoor fish. Lobsters sea bass. Sea bream. And many good items are only Ala Carte. And very limited and not that good quality fish are included in the all you can eat. I asked her to call the manager. And we went back to the table. We waited for more than 30 minutes waiting for the manager and he never showed up so we decided to leave and find another place to eat at. What an embarrassing and disappointing night. Will never go this restaurant again because apparently they don't respect...
