bon appétit, bon voyage -
My sister and I wanted to try out a new café and we were quite on the hunt for a new experience- in terms of menu, ambiance and the eatery itself. Gladly, we had to look no further as we came across a super aesthetically pleasing café concept. We loved their menu selections, be it beverages or desserts and even fresh bakes. Definitely in love with the furnishings, decor and cozy atmosphere this café conveys- do check my stories for more.
Here’s what I decided to devour from their dessert menu- ‘Umm Ali’: a traditional medieval egyptian dessert that’s quite similar to your usual bread pudding but more on the fragrant and upscale side. Using puffed pastry as a base, soaked in sugary-milk, topped with hazelnuts, crushed pistachios, desiccated coconut flakes and baked to sweet perfection- it was so intoxicating to have. What I loved about this version of Umm Ali is the use of hazelnuts and the carb based used was danish pastry or croissant if I am not mistaken, instead of the usual puffed pastry.
Absolutely loved the lavish flavours and the presentation of this dessert. The insides were so soft and mellow with an added crunch of the baked pastry, I am in love. It was served hot and the portion is good enough for two. This one is a MUST Y’ALL!
In addition to the delicious dessert I ordered, my sister was craving for something strong yet light. She settled for ‘Tiramisu’- this block of coffee based dessert was light and airy, the level of sweetness was just right but it fell a short in terms of the taste. It was lacking in the sense of how rich a tiramisu should taste like- the cream tasted quite bland, the coffee used to soak the fingers tasted too dilute. Overall you only get a whiff of the coffee flavour whilst everything else seems to be lost in this dessert.
We felt there should’ve been more cream compared to the quantity of the lady fingers used, as its evident above. Oh well, I would still head back to this café to try their other bakes and makes- seems worth a shot.
Inspite of how crowded this place was, the staff was so kind, welcoming with pleasant smiles...
Read moreDr. Jim is an excellent veterinary and surgeon, I can say the same about Dr. Sophie, she is great, they are not expensive and the rest of the people that work in the clinic are alwats very helpul, knowledgeable and sweet. They have treated my dog for the last 10 years (since she was 8 weeks old). As a Yorkie she had a few health problems over the years: very delicate digestive system (several gastroenteritis), broken leg .. Dr. Jim performed surgery on her twice: when she was 7 months old she jumped and broke her leg (tiny bones) and when she was 8 years old the kneecap came out of her place (patellar luxation) on one of her back legs. In both cases the surgery went perfect as if she had never had surgery. Few weeks ago she got a severe gastroenteritis, she always behaved like a vacuum cleaner in the street trying to eat everything in her way, and even when Dr. Jim and Sophie try to do everything possibly to help her she passed away. If I ever have another dog Dr. Jim will be my vet, he is an...
Read moreVoyage Café is my absolute favorite spot in Dubai, and I’ve been a loyal visitor for years whenever I travel to the Emirates. It’s always impressive to see the line of eager customers outside "Voyage" in the evenings, all waiting to savor their legendary "Voyage Pudding"—a now-iconic signature dish. The coffee selection is impressive, and the pastries are nothing short of exquisite.
While excellent service is often expected in Dubai, it’s particularly true here: the entire team is consistently attentive and welcoming. Special praise goes to Joseph, who possesses that rare talent of making every guest feel genuinely special. And, of course, Mr. Allan deserves a mention for his warm welcome and incredible ability to manage the crowd and to ensure you always find a seat, no matter how busy it gets.
The ambiance is relaxing and authentic. Thank you to the entire Voyage team for consistently delivering such an...
