Sorry for the delay, YUi. Honestly, it was a nice enough evening, and personally, the food was ok and not as the reviews touted it to be, though. Ambience was nice and pleasant and felt like an open and bright ramen-ya, staff was kind. We went when the weather was good and that too a Friday night after work, so as the retailer they share (?) the unit with ("Frame") was bustling and very active, we got a booth inside the shop. We chose this place because of the great reviews and because we were really looking forward to the ramen. My rating is based on that experience, otherwise would have definitely given it at least 4 stars.
We ordered the Ebi tempura, the beef gyoza, the Tantanmen, and for drinks we went for Lychee and Passion fruit Ramune. The drinks were great and would recommend them (not too sweet, and just a nice kick of sourness to balance it out). The gyoza and ramen was fine, too, but that's just it - it was just fine, so we were kind of upset since it had so much hype. Maybe the other ramen dishes on the menu have a better outcome, but unfortunately, this is just our review on our experience. It was the Ebi tempura appetizer that really hurt us (and I'm talking about this literally). The outer coating was way too hard and inedible and tempura is usually the easiest food items to eat, so we really struggled with eating it and had to leave it which is a one of the rare times we leave food uneaten.
If I go back, definitely will try any other ramen dish on the menu to see if it will live up to others recommendation on the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe had an absolutely fantastic dining experience at Yui Ramen in Dubai Design District. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with warm hospitality and a cozy, authentic ambiance that immediately set the tone for a memorable meal.
The ramen was nothing short of exceptional ā rich, flavorful broth, perfectly cooked noodles, and fresh, well-balanced toppings. Every bite was comforting and full of depth, a true testament to the skill and care put into each bowl. The menu also offers a great selection of sides and drinks that perfectly complement the meal.
A special shout-out goes to Abishek, who made our visit even more enjoyable. His attentiveness, professionalism, and genuinely kind demeanor stood out from the moment we were seated. He took the time to walk us through the menu, made thoughtful recommendations, and ensured everything was perfect throughout our meal. His outstanding service truly elevated our experience and left a lasting impression.
We left Yui Ramen not just full, but extremely satisfied and grateful for such a delightful experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic Japanese ramen in Dubai with top-tier service. We will definitely be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreRamen has seen a bit of a boom in the last couple of years, but I can confidently say Yui serves the best bowl in the city.
I personally prefer thicker and curlier noodles, but the quality is still top notch. Everything else, however, stands head and shoulders above the competition.
There are some strong contenders in the city, but when it comes to authenticity or overall cohesiveness, Yui unquestionably takes top spot for me. Will be coming back. Often.
EDIT: It's worth noting the noodles have been changed and now have a more chewy texture typical for authentic ramen. The best ramen in town just got even better! Well done Yui and thank you for acknowledging customer feedback!
EDIT 2: A friend and I just had our first visit since their reopening, and unfortunately we were quite disappointed. Now, we're all for experimenting with the menu and adding new items, but even their best selling ramen has been changed, and we're at a loss as to why this has been done because the old recipe had us visiting regularly. As the saying goes "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". Surely popular items from the older menu can coexist with...
