Bistro Royal Dubai — Restaurant in Dubai

It’s hard to explain this restaurant. The interiors are spectacular, especially the ceiling.

The food and drinks are great, but expensive. I remember talking to the owner/manager before it opened that they wanted to position themselves as an affordable place for office workers to hang out in the evening. We were excited. The restaurant opened and we were shocked.

They did not achieve what they set out to. After work on a Thursday we (12 of us) went for drinks and we were the only customers. It didn’t stop us having fun, but the bar service was still slow (3 staff watching 1 person work).

The same owner/manager pushed through the middle of our group grumbling “excuse me” while staring at the floor. It’s a small thing, but with an empty restaurant, there are alternative ways to cross the room, and more pleasant ways to say excuse me.

The exterior started off dark and uninviting, but they brightened it with colours and made it feel more open. This has worked to increase the lunch time traffic. Very bad experience with this restaurant! I waited 30-40 minutes for a Chicken Alfredo dish, even though the restaurant was EMPTY! The chicken was poorly seasoned and not up to standard.

The worst part was the pricing issue. Before entering, I saw the dish priced at AED 39 (with a 50% discount to be with a total of 19.5) on Deliveroo. However, the in-store menu listed it as AED 49 + VAT (total 55 AED). I ordered and paid—no problem there cz its my decision I need to sit outside.

I decided to give constructive feedback, asking them to align their online APP and in-store prices to avoid customer confusion and dissatisfaction specially that the restaurant is empty. Instead of understanding, one staff member was incredibly rude and dismissive. He rudely suggested I raise the issue myself and questioned if he should even represent the company. All I wanted was to help the restaurant improve, but his attitude was shocking!

Thankfully, the supervisor apologized for his behavior, but this staff member (wearing sunglasses and with a silver tooth) MUST be fired. Such rude behavior is unacceptable and reflects poorly on...

Visited Bistro Royal for my 1st wedding anniversary and it was a mixed feel for a reaction.

The food was decent, did not live upto tur hype I'll be honest.

There was a bit of a lag in service initially as we were left at the table for a good 15 mins with the menu. After speaking with the manager he arranged for a server to come to us and also complimented us with Tequila shots for our troubles.

The ambiance was nice, the food was pretty good, my wife didn't appreciate the steak she ordered but the baked salmon I had was cooked well. The deserts weren't great, the tisamisu lacked flavour, cheese cake was a bit solid, not light like it should be.

The manager was helpful in clicking pictures for us on the elevated stage they have which we appreciate.
