Arrival late in the evening, so, as expected a swift check-in process based on limited guests being around at that time. Welcoming from the door staff excellent and the reception similar, however, the reception has more focus on when you are checking out than checking in - as established on my departure date.

This property requests your time of departure on arrival, and the reason for doing so, is to lock your room key at that exact time. Amazing, the 5-Star luxury property believes all its guests have an exact time of check-out and plans will never change. The time of check-out is not relevant, unless the guest is wanting a late check-out or specifically asks for a service with their check-out.

Rooms are no different to any 5-Star property in the United Arab Emirates, maybe newer as the property only recently opened, but space wise, luxury or amenities, nothing specific that stood out for me personally.

Selected a Horizon room as solo traveling and only there for a couple days. Street noise (highway) is noticeable if a light sleeper, otherwise fine. Balcony is locked on arrival with some mechanism of a child safety lock, which is fine, however this should be a question asked to the guests on arrival if they want it removed to utilize the balcony.

Room wise, no complaints, the bed was fantastic, linens, pillows of the highest quality and had a good nights sleep every night. Everything controlled in the room by a a good selection of electronics. TV was terrible and did not work well at all, especially the menu selections, had to press buttons way too many times to get them to work. Once done, good selection on channels.

Bathroom, double sink, walk in rain shower with a seat, toilet and all the amenities one could need, great products available as well. Shower robes, slippers, great toiletries in general on offer. Wardrobe space, coffee area, min bar, all sufficient.

Breakfast wise, personally selected to go by menu as opposed to what they offer if you include breakfast in your booking. Egg benedict was superb, ordered it everyday, service on the 4th floor also exceptional and the view sitting out on the veranda, just what one needs in the morning.

High Society Bar on the 30th Floor, totally different, clearly poorly run by an individual who creates an attitude to the place. Shame as the views are incredible, with it being the perfect place to sit back relax and take in the views. Service is slow, in addition they inform guests that tables have a minimum spend and the drinks on the menu are not all available. Remove the attitude.

I don't know, maybe because the property is newly opened they still have teething problems. From a eating perspective, the 4th floor had some great options, all fresh and full of flavor. From a 30tg floor perspective, they are lost living in cookoo land.

Our stay at The Lana Hotel Dorchester Collection was an absolute dream!

We had the pleasure of staying at The Lana about a month ago, and our visit was perfection in every category (accomodations, food/drink, decor, comfort, service).  As a frequent traveler that is particularly selective about hotels, The Lana exceeded my expectations.

First it is a wonderful addition to the Dubai Marasi Business Bay area, providing some quiet from the busier areas of the city and an absolutely magnificent view of the skyline that totally consumes and captivates you.  From the rooftop (where there is an AWE-inspiring mosaic of swimming pools and plush seating adjacent to the restaurant/bar) in particular, sweeping panoramic views are in abundance.

The staffers are genuinely kind, extremely accommodating and go out of their way to anticipate your needs before you even know you need them.  We felt consistently welcomed by every single staff member we met -- that was such a wonderful feeling. As beautiful and comfortable as the hotel is, the staff and their level of professionalism and service really took our experience over the top.

This is a beautifully luxurious hotel with serious attention to detail in the decor and appointments.   From your entry into the lobby with its high ceilings, beautiful hues, rich textures and luxe yet comfortable feel, it is clear the hotel paid attention to everything.  There is a feeling of grandeur and sophistication -- yet softness, airiness, comfort and welcome wrapped into one;  It is quite difficult to deliver all of these characteristics or elicit so many emotions in a single experience -- but The Lana delivered.  The atmosphere from the lobby carries over into the detail of the rooms, we had a beautiful suite that extended that feeling.  The room was spacious, with a beautiful color palette, cloud-like bed, a variety of lighting options, walk-in closet, spacious terrace, stunning panoramic views of the skyline and marina; and the bathroom.....was just wow!  Our bathroom was almost as large as the sleeping area with double vanity, sitting area, beautiful fixtures and marble throughout and a gorgeous deep soaking tub in front of the "floor to ceiling" window with views of the marina. Let's also not forget the fresh fruit that was left for us daily!

Lastly, the food and cocktails at the hotel's restaurants were exceptional.  Tasty food from a world renowned chef and cocktails crafted to perfection.

This hotel is such a gem, and we will be returning!  Thank you to The Lana for such a...

A Six-Star Experience at The Lana, Dorchester Edition

I’ve had the privilege of staying at some of the world’s best hotels—from the Four Seasons to the Ritz, and even boutique hotels rated #1 globally. However, I didn’t expect much from my stay at The Lana. The location and the allure of a brand-new hotel convinced me to stray from my usual choice, the trusted Four Seasons. I’m beyond grateful I did because The Lana delivered a level of service and luxury that I’ve never experienced anywhere else.

The hotel itself is stunning—beautiful, clean, modern, and impeccably maintained. But plenty of hotels offer this. What truly sets The Lana apart is its exceptional service. It’s difficult to describe in words, but I’ll share two standout experiences that illustrate just how special this hotel is.

When I arrived at my room, I was amazed to find a fish tank with goldfish, alongside a personal picture of me. The hotel staff had gone above and beyond, doing their research by checking my social media (I have a public profile) and discovering my passion for fishing. They even found a picture of me catching large goldfish in Alaska, framed it, and placed it next to the fish tank with a thoughtful note. It was such a unique, personalized touch that I could never have imagined from any hotel.

Another highlight was my experience with the hotel’s luxury Rolls-Royce service. I had requested it for my airport departure and, while they checked availability, I quickly stepped out for a meal at one of the hotel’s fantastic restaurants. To my surprise, the concierge I spoke with earlier went out of their way to find me in this large hotel to personally deliver the message, along with updates on other requests I had. It was a small gesture, but it spoke volumes about their dedication to going above and beyond for their guests.

Without a doubt, this was the best hotel experience I’ve ever had, and I can’t wait to return to Dubai—just for The...

I recently returned for my second stay at The Lana, and once again it surpassed all expectations. The hotel itself is one of the most beautiful in Dubai, with elegant design and breathtaking views of the city skyline. Yet as gorgeous as The Lana is, what truly sets it apart is the incredible staff and service that made me feel welcome and special from the moment I arrived. Every staff member I encountered went above and beyond to take care of me. Roberto at the front door greeted me by name each day with a warm smile and helped with anything I needed before I even had to ask. Richard, the manager, was attentive to every detail and personally ensured my stay was flawless – he truly made me feel like a VIP. And at The Lana’s High Society lounge, Angelique and Vanessa provided exceptional service with genuine warmth. They remembered my drink preferences and made each evening there so enjoyable. It’s clear the team here truly cares about their guests, and it made all the difference. Having stayed at many top hotels in Dubai (and being a fan of Dorchester Collection properties), I can honestly say The Lana raises the bar. Dorchester hotels are always excellent, but The Lana is on another level when it comes to warm, personalized hospitality. The combination of luxury and heartfelt service here is unmatched in my experience, and The Lana has quickly become my favorite place to stay in the city. I wholeheartedly recommend The Lana to anyone seeking an exceptional hotel experience in Dubai. Whether it’s your first visit or you’re a returning guest like me, you’ll be treated like family. This was only my second stay and I’m already looking forward to coming back again and again. Thank you to the amazing team at The Lana for making my visit so memorable – I can’t wait to return!

The good: the building is stunning, majestic, floating on its pillars along the canal. Inside, the style is elegant and refined, far from the golden excesses of Dubai's bling hotels. The nighttime view from the High Society is breathtaking. The other restaurants we tried (Bonbon Café for pâtisserie and snacks and Riviera for breakfast) were pleasant. The lobby is very comfortable to have a coffee or get some work done, with a pianist playing in the background. The bad: service is inconsistent, borderline amateur, with frequent small issues, as if the hotel had just opened, even though it's now been 14 months. European-trained staff seems to have been brought in to raise the bar, to no avail so far. The ugly: the view and the noise in the poorly named "Sunrise Rooms". They face a mess of busy highways, ungraceful buildings and construction sites. It's around 70 dB on the balcony and while it's quieter inside, they didn't optimize for soundproofing. The windows are double-glazed, not triple, and likely lack asymmetric laminated acoustic glass. The materials used on the balcony might even reflect the sound back into the room instead of absorbing it. The result is a permanent background noise of cars, punctuated by sharp peaks whenever a Lamborghini or an ambulance passes by. If you're a light sleeper, avoid these rooms. And if you expect the Dorchester Collection brand to guarantee a pristine view: be warned. When we checked out and mentioned the noise, we were told that had we complained earlier, they could have upgraded us to a better room. It is unfortunate to have to complain to get the best experience.
