Aitchie's Ale House — Restaurant in Aberdeen City

Nice looking traditional pub had nice atmosphere. Me and my friend came all the way to see a band in another venue so decided to pop in on way. I ordered a gin & lemonade ( flora) which was on special so thought I would try it. It wasn't to my taste but still drank it ( as paid for it). I went back up to bar to order another drink ( something different) as didn't enjoy what I ordered ( wasn't barmans fault for my choice) and I was refused!!!!!! I was actually quite taken back as I had been sat on a bus for nearly 2 hours to get to Aberdeen and had only went in one bar brewdog and had a small glass of wine, at first I thought he was joking?????? But no he was actually serious!!!!!! I review lots of places as I work in hospitality. I would have given 5* but I was made to feel so embarrassed in front of everyone in the pub. There was a works night out who were even taken back by my refusal. I get my friend was very load but she suffers from bi-polar disorder and I am blind in one eye so maybe he looked at my eye and decided not to serve me as it half closes sometimes. But there was no other reason for me not to get served in there. Not given stars for food as had none. Very friendly staff. Dressed in shirts smart Plug point to charge phone and a nice old man ambiance. £3.80 a pint of Tennants can be reasonable because of close proximity to train and bus station. Less than 5 minutes away. However no card machine and is cash only. There is a cash mashine around the corner in the shop. However in 2018 I don't expect many places to not accept card and most places now also have contactless. Can be a bit of a bother. Friendly and good...

Me and the wife were staying at the leonardo hotel across the road and decided to drop in for a drink. We ended up staying for a few hours. Very friendly pub with great bar staff who were very smartly dressed and friendly, the music playing was very good too.
