Going out for a meal as a family seems to be a little treat nowadays with prices going up etc. We decided on a Tuesday night pizza trip and unfortunately picked Ask Italian in Union Square Aberdeen.
I've ordered my slow cooked lamb pizza, as I love lamb and though it would be a lovely combination. I must admit I looked forward to the meal after two stressful days at work. My husband ordered some spicy sausage pizza and we picked ham and chicken pizzas for the kids.
My jaw was on the floor when my pizza arrived and I realised that yes, it was big, but had hardly any toppings on. The lamb put on the pizza as if someone tried very hard to hide the fact there was almost none of it. There tiny splats of shredded meat. Tasted a small slice, yes, there was nothing more than cheese and tomato sauce on it. I've send it back.
Got an apology and offer of "something else from the menu". Forst rule of customer service is to offer complimentary drinks or something to compensate for the failure of the kitchen. Was told by the manager (I assume), that "this is how it comes". Great excuse. If I was offered any compensation, which I should have been offered (worked as a waitress for couple of years, it's a standard procedure), maybe I'd have ordered something else instead. Left hungry and upset. Not how I imagined a family treat to look like. Husband's pizza was no better btw, but he was too hungry...
Read morecame here with my family just for desserts, got in and asked first waitress if there is any tables free and she simply walked away? another waitress came up and asked what we’re looking for and had to repeat myself. we got seated and we’re left 15 mins without getting service, looking over at waitresses that were sitting chatting indicating that we are ready. they came and took the order and left us for a following 20 mins for 5 coffees and 5 desserts. restaurant had max of 10 tables so we didn’t understand what was taking so long. we asked if it’ll be long as we wanted to shop after and we’re spending up to 45 mins for a simple stop for coffee. got the order after wait and 2 of the coffees were wrong but the desserts were good. got our bill and mentioned to a small blonde waitress that we werent giving tip although the dessert was good the waiting time was extensive. the waitress then replied “if you’re looking for a quick coffee then stop by starbucks or costa”. we were taking aback by this rudeness and lack of accountability from the staff. the same waitress then watched us leave and said “bye” in a snide and sarcastic way. will not be returning as i expect better. i’ve worked in hospitality when i was waiting 10+ tables on my own and wouldn’t leave a table this long, and when receiving feedback i would apologise and take it correctly....
