Bartenders Lounge — Restaurant in Aberdeen City

I am disappointed and let down at the experience at the Bartenders' Lounge.

We were in the bar for about two hours and had four/five cocktails each - the drinks were on par with other bars nearby.

When I went to pay, the bill was almost double what I anticipated, based on the menu costs and ended up being more expensive than a 6-course meal and wine parings for two at Six by Nico - so a lot.

I asked for an itemised breakdown and realised the cost included Four drinks we never had A 10% service fee we didn't know about until after paying Tax is not in the cost of the items, like other bars across the city, so you have a 20% extra cost and no advanced awareness of this that I noticed.

When I spoke with the bar staff about the additional costs and next steps, the barman argued and told me we had more drinks than we did and could not have been more condescending in how he spoke to us. There was no resolution to the costs of the additional drinks - we ended up paying for drinks we never had.

The whole experience impacted the night, and we felt that perhaps a tab was missed by the bar staff, and they tried to recoup the money with our bill.

I have a history of leaving friendly and encouraging reviews, which you'll note on my Google profile. I want to see new businesses thrive. The owner was friendly and wasn't there at the end when we challenged the bill, but I want to make others aware of the experience, as charging people so much for goods they didn't have could have a detrimental impact on them - especially at this time of year.

Loved my visit to Bartenders Lounge and will definitely be a bar I frequent when I'm in town! Cocktails with proper spirit measures 👌 Prices on par with other cocktail bars in town too. A unique list of cocktails to choose from along with an array of spirits for those who don't want a cocktail. Craig was more than happy to find out what you like to drink, flavour profile etc to go and make something off menu if you prefer. Where to start!

Bartenders lounge is absolutely excellent from start to finish! From a warm welcome at the front door, beautiful decor, a cosy atmosphere and the best cocktails! The staff are impressively knowledgeable about all things alcohol and provide very attentive table service. You are never left without a drink and the staff take great interest in your preferences and make sure you are well catered for. We unfortunately did not try the food however plan to visit very soon as the tapas menu looks incredible! However, we did take a healthy portion of cocktails and couldn't fault a single one - and my partner isn't even a cocktail fan! Amazing!
