Booked a table for Thursday at 20.15. Arrived at 20.05 and were taken to our table at 20.10 once Covid checks and Track & trace was verified and made sure all three of us had used the sanitiser provided. Our Waiter was Steven. He was friendly, informative and had a good sense of humour which is perfect for us. We started with the Duck Parfait, Wild Atlantic Scallops & Potted Smoked Salmon Pate. The Duck Parfait was very nice, it came with Apple & date chutney & 2 slices of toasted ciabatta. I felt there was too much pate for the 2 slices provided, another slice of bread would have been better as I ended up eating the Pate on my fork. The Wild Atlantic Scallops came in a Lobster & Prosecco sauce, peas, crispy pancetta & straw fries. It was nice and worked well as a starter. The Potted Smoked Salmon Pate was enjoyed, came with 4 slices of toast and a slice of lemon. We were served with Lettuce wedges for the 2 having steak as a palate cleanser. One was with bacon and mustard, the other garlic mayo & grana padano. We Both tried some of each and we both preferred the bacon and mustard. Our Main courses came consisting of 2 of the 16oz Ribeye Steaks, both medium and Bernaise Sauce and a Butternut and Mushroom Tart and a side portion of Garlic Button Mushrooms. Although not mentioned as a side, we noticed dauphinoise potato came with the Buttermilk Chicken. So we asked if we could get that as an option as we prefer that to chips. Steven went to check and came back and said yes, we could get dauphinoise potato. The 160z Ribeye was superb, very succulent and mine was a perfect medium, the other was slighly under medium, but was still thoroughly enjoyed. The garlic button mushrooms were tender and very nice, there was enough for all 3 of us to try them. The dauphinoise was a little disappointing. It was not freshly made as we had expected, but was covered in a coating like you can get in a supermarket's frozen section. It was quite nice once salt was added. The Butternut and Mushroom Tart came with ratatouille, fine green beans, baby potatoes with sunblush pepper & herb dressing. It was said to be tasty and the pastry was amazing. We finally decided to have deserts. Knickerbocker Glory Sundae, Banoffee Pie & Classic Creme Brulee. All were enjoyed. We were all full. With 4 pints of Peroni and a medium Coke it came to ÂŁ149.90, less the ÂŁ15 already paid for reserving the table. Steven & the other members of the serving team are an asset to Miller & Carter. Can't wait for our next visit. 24/07/22 Was our next visit and possibly be the last. Starters were all good and 2 mains were good, but the 12oz 50 day Black Angus Sirloin Steak was the worst steak I have ever had. It was full of fat and gristle and over a 3rd of it was inedible. hence the overall change from 5 to 3 stars.

Really good experience here, the staff were very knowledgeable and service was on point as you would expect from a classy steakhouse. Our server Aurora was very good at recommending wines and which cut of steak to choose. Would highly recommend.

The restaurant boasts a charming and thoughtfully designed interior, with tasteful dĂ©cor that creates a welcoming ambiance. The large windows in certain areas allow natural light to pour in, making the space feel open and inviting. However, a few corners of the restaurant could benefit from improved lighting, as they felt a bit too dim in contrast. The culinary experience was mixed. I began with the sticky chicken, which was the standout dish of the meal—flavorful, well-prepared, and a great way to start. My friend had the cheddar mushrooms, which, while presented simply, could have benefited from a better finish as the cheese lacked that desirable melted texture. For the main course, I chose the salmon served with baby potatoes and a side of mac and cheese. The dish was competently done, though it didn’t particularly push any boundaries. The mac and cheese was comforting and satisfying, though fairly standard. My friend opted for a steak, which unfortunately didn’t quite meet her expectations. That said, both mains were complemented by well-balanced sauces that added a pleasant touch. We concluded the meal with desserts—white chocolate crĂšme brĂ»lĂ©e for me and profiteroles for my friend. Both were decent, though not particularly memorable. One notable drawback was the pricing of drinks—£4.80 for a pint of Pepsi felt steep, especially when considering the overall value of the meal. Service, however, was a highlight. Dan, our server, was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. His unique habit of kneeling to speak at eye level felt a bit unusual at first but ultimately came across as a thoughtful gesture to create a more personal connection. Overall, while the experience didn’t quite live up to the elevated concept the restaurant seems to aim for, it wasn’t unpleasant by any means. It’s a place I’d be open to revisiting if a friend suggested it, though it wouldn’t be my first choice given the price point and the overall lack of standout moments.

We have been to Miller and carter Aberdeen many times previous always had great food and first class service, our experience yesterday was dramatically different. We booked for lunch for our sons birthday, servers were very happy and smiley however were extremely slow and did not take onboard our requests. We had asked for our daughters main to be brought out with our starters, this was not done in fact they served her main after our mains had been served leading to a very hungry little girl. As we had our mains served we ordered another drink for our son, despite trying to get the attention of several servers we had finished our food before we managed to remind them of his drink order. I ordered the dirty burger which was supposed to come with beef dripping sauce on the side, which I told the server it was missing , it did not materialise. My wife ordered the sirloin steak with blue cheese wedge, which the wedge came out a good 10 mins before my wife's steak which we both thought was odd. The onion loaf was soggy, chips were overcooked and beef dripping sauce had no flavour. We were going to also order desert but were that put off by the slow service we had other plans for the day we were now behind for.

We had mentioned in advance it was our sons birthday so they would bring our the usual decorative chocolates with the writing on the plate, this appeared after we had paid our bill. On paying my bill I always give a tip but I did not in this case believe one was warranted however there was no actual option on the card machine to not leave a gratuity so I gave a consolation ÂŁ2.

The emphasis seemed to be placed on serving a large party of 12-15 people sitting to the left of us for some sort of celebration, which I understand larger parties have greater needs , a larger bill and invariable tip more but we had just spent nearly ÂŁ160 on what was essentially a second class meal with extremely slow service.

We will likely return to see if the service and issues above improve but it will not be my first choice of restaurant from now on.

I don't normally leave reviews of any sort but i was disappointed by the experience that I felt...
