Booked for a Christmas night out on the terrace, when we arrived at the correct time, we were told we did not have a booking for another 2 hours. We were given the balcony upstairs which would have been fine but we were a group of 20 looking to order street food and have some drinks, the balcony had 4/5 tall round bar tables and a couple of stools to each of them, when we asked the manager if there was anywhere else we could go we were told that the balcony sits 30 people and otherwise they are fully booked. On asking again as more of our group arrived for some extra tables and chairs were were given 3/4 stools which we were told had to be taken from another reservation (not quite sure why we felt this was our fault) The manager during conversations regarding space and the booking in general, repeatedly stated to us that ‘if you read the terms and conditions when you book then you will see it states you are not booking seats or tables you are booking an area!’ On my booking confirmation it clearly stated I had booked for 20 people on the terrace for food and drinks, forgive me for not assuming that this meant we would A: have been expected, B: have had at least a big enough space for all of the group - in the terrace and C: somewhere to comfortably eat. If we were told once, we were told at least 5 times to read the terms and conditions, so please, if you are thinking of booking for a large group, which I personally would not recommend, READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS!! overall the venue is nice, the staff were nice, the manager however was not helpful, stand-offish, unapproachable and just generally not what I would expect. I will not...

Slow service, dirty blankets & disgusting draught drinks

I visited the Ivy Lodge for the first time for my work’s Christmas night out and it was a big disappointment. Our table was booked for 3pm, which turns out is also the time they open and they were completely unprepared for us arriving. It was freezing, none of the patio heaters were on in anticipation of us arriving, so we were given dirty blankets to keep warm. We attempted to warm up with a round of mulled wine but this also hadn’t been prepared for opening and we were told it would be a 30 minute wait. When we went up for our second round an hour later, they had forgotten to turn on the mulled wine, so we still weren’t able to get any. In the absence of mulled wine, I attempted vodka and soda which was disgusting, followed by a vodka and lemonade which was equally foul. I can only guess everything from the draught gun was gross. The staff were also very slow. During our visit we were the only people there for about 90 minutes, we were a group of 9, and we only stayed this long to spend our deposit, but despite being the only people there it took around 20 minutes to get a round of drinks both times we went to the bar. We had planned to make a night of it at the Ivy Lodge but at 5pm when the Works opened, we chose to move in there which was a much...

We pre-booked the upstairs area of Ivy Lodge for a group of 36 people. We sat overlooking the harbour, and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The space has such a cool, quirky charm that made our event feel truly special. The ambiance was magical, the music set the perfect tone for the evening, and the drinks were a hit with everyone. Our friends and family had the best time, and we’ve had so many compliments on the venue. The staff were wonderful—so friendly, helpful, and professional. Everything ran smoothly and felt completely stress-free thanks to their care and attention. We were able to pre-order food from Shipyard Street Food for our group of 36, and it couldn’t have been easier. The food was delivered straight to our tables, making the whole experience feel relaxed, convenient, and perfectly suited to the laid-back vibe of the evening. A huge thank you to Monica, the manager, who was an absolute star. We corresponded for months leading up to our event, and she kept me updated and reassured throughout the entire process. I can’t recommend Ivy Lodge highly enough for anyone looking for a unique, welcoming, and well-organised venue. Thank you to all the staff for making our celebration so special and...

Our new favourite place to go for a meal and some drinks on a Saturday is here where you can order a pizza , burger or loaded fries from 3 separate eateries and get drinks from the large bar all while sitting watching the football on a big screen on a heated outside terrace in the sunshine ,what’s not to like? , katsu curry loaded fries with jalapeno poppers from Aberdam washed down with a cold beer . Prices were very reasonable and the service was quick considering how busy it was .

Visited 03 July. I had seen plenty on the telly, but attended my first pub quiz here. There were a number of prizes to be chosen by the winner from sealed envelopes, ranging from ₤100 down to a bag of crisps. Our team, 90% of which were American, came in second place. The winner, by one point, chose his envelope and won the crisps. The pub was very clean and well-ordered. The staff were good, and our ciders were nice and cold. A good Scottish experience for all our party.

Just stop by for a drink before get my train. Its like a hidden gem of Aberdeen. First impression is awesome because has amazing atmosphere and beautiful decor. Love the bar wall so do the stairs going up. Beautiful gallery. Great drinks you can enjoy while watching sports as they have screens. I think the staff is the main key for this running this superb place because they were attentive, helpful and be there for customers. Surely i’ll be back when in Aberdeen.
