The Old Workshop — Restaurant in Aberdeen City

The venue itself is great. The bar staff are very good at pouring drinks but not so good on the admin side, I've been undercharged twice now on a drinks tab. Food from the in-house pizzeria and the neighbouring Dutch fries place is good quality but the service is hit or miss. I ordered a pizza 10 mins after a friend for the same table. He got his within 10-15 minutes. I waited 30 mins then asked at the bar what had happened. They said they'd chase it up. Another 30 mins passed, by which time I'd eaten my friend's leftover pizza out of sheer hunger. I returned to the bar to say I no longer wanted my order after an hour wait, asking for a refund. The person in charge checked the til, went to the pizzeria counter, returning with a long-winded explanation about a large pizza order they'd taken just prior to mine, no refund offered. At that point my pizza appeared and I was asked if I wanted it in a takeaway box! At no point did anyone come to my table explaining that I may have to wait up to 1 hour for a pizza. With some customer service training this place...

We stopped in by for a couple of drinks. There were a number of cocktails to choose from but the bar tender also could make any cocktail you asked for. The two cocktails that I had were delicious. There was a huge range of whisky's to choose from but also some non alcoholic beers for the designated driver to enjoy. The atmosphere was great. It's very cool the workshop is in an old tunnel that used to be a coal seller and also a workshop and a car park. Lots of history. Service was so friendly. Relaxing but upbeat place....
