Great pub with a friendly atmosphere. Food was great & the staff were friendly. They used the app to order the food & the service was fast & friendly. Came here again for the second time with friends. The staff were freindly and the food, as usual, was excellent. The service was fast and this time we had to order at the bar as the Pub was busy. Later on we had table service when we ordered dessert. The place was clean and tidy and the toilets were clean too. Overall a good experience. 👍🍺🍹😁

The passion fruit pavlova cheesecake was a bit disappointing, not enough meringue it looked more in writing. And it would be nicer if they got the smokers and vapers away from the door if.

The pub has a fantastic garden, and I’ve been eager to try it out for a while. So, I decided to book a table for my husband’s surprise birthday party. The booking process was straightforward, and the staff I spoke with over the phone were friendly and helpful. They even allowed us to bring our own cake, which was a nice touch.

I opted for the buffet option and was advised repeatedly over the phone not to order too much food because the portions are “quite generous.” With this in mind, I pre-paid for food for 14 people, even though our party included 17 adults and 4 kids (3 plus a baby).

When the food was served, I went to the bar to ask if more was coming because the amount seemed insufficient (see the picture). The answer was quite rude ‘well you’ve only paid for 14 people’… this was the total number (if not less)of adults attending the event at the end….I had paid just under £170 for the buffet, and it didn’t seem like much. Later, I also realized that the crudités were never brought out—they were completely forgotten.

By the end of the event, there were only a few sandwiches left, but it’s worth noting that some guests canceled last minute, and the kids barely ate anything (perhaps a sandwich or two, but they were only 2 and 5 years old).

If you’re considering ordering a buffet here, be cautious. You may end up paying mostly for sandwiches with a few other items, if you’re lucky enough to get everything you paid for.

£170 = what you see in the picture (with a few items missing since I didn’t think to take a photo beforehand, as people usually take pictures of food that looks good...

Absolutely awful! I have come to Swiss cottage for many years but this has to be the worst experience I have had at a restaurant and I'm so surprised as it's usually amazing here! I ordered the chicken wing sharer for myself and partner and it was spot on, however I ordered the mixed grill as did three other people on the table, only one of the mixed grills were ok! My chicken was undercooked and overcooked at the same time, my steak I asked for medium and it came out well done, the eggs were not cooked properly, the peas were shrivelled and the gammon was so salty it was unbelievable and it was so tough it could have been used as a doorstop, the other mixed grills had the same issue with the gammon and the chicken on two of the other mixed grills was either raw or overcooked (so tough we couldn't even cut through with a steak knife!) All in all I spent over £80 (only for three of us) and I wish I had gone to a McDonald's, this was meant to be a birthday meal for me and my dinner was the worst out of all of them...I used to recommend Swiss cottage all the time but now I would recommend not to go there. One positive is the beautiful location of the restaurant with the river right there but other than that I couldn't think why I...

We took our twins to celebrate their 18th birthday and sat at 17:00

Straight away the girls were very attentive and professional in everything they did. My wife suffers with very bad anxiety but the nice girls, the comforting atmosphere and cosy surroundings (not to mention the large wine spritzer) helped to put her at ease.

We all had a starter, chicken strips, salt & pepper squid and we also had a huge nacho sharing bowl which was very nice indeed. For our mains we had Scampi, a couple of chicken burgers and a beef burger. These were served very quickly and piping hot. I'm afraid to say our eyes may have been bigger than our tummies as we did leave a few chips but we couldn't leave the burgers or Scampi. Very tasty.

I was looking forward to a dessert but I'm afraid I couldn't find the room but I would have gone for the cheesecake which looked amazing.

We don't eat out very often and we were looking forward to this rare treat since we booked a couple of weeks previously (also a very easy process) and everyone had a lovely time, full tummies and we got to look at the ducks and fish in the pond while we ate.

A great night, a fantastic meal and superb staff. Highly recommended.

Thank you. The...
