359 Balkan & Turkish Kitchen — Restaurant in Arun

I found this restaurant through Google Maps and their top rated restaurants. So glad.

I visited with my family including two young kids at the off peak time of 1500 on a weekday, so it was understandably quiet, but I can imagine how amazing the atmosphere must be on a busy evening.

That's not to say the atmosphere wasn't pleasant, as it was. Upon entering, you are greeted by lovely Bulgarian music playing in the background, and then by the very welcoming owner. Tables, chairs all very comfortable, surrounded by lovely decor.

The food was AMAZING. The wife is a meat lover, I am a vegetarian and the 9 and 10 year olds are fussy and we all LOVED our respective dishes. I am a huge fan of salmon and very rarely do I say to the wife "This salmon is cooked PERFECTLY".

We had the "cake of the day" as our dessert, and it was great hearing the backstory to the HOMEMADE cake before being served it... not a crumb remained. Even the vanilla ice cream served alongside the cake was of premium quality, but just scooped out of some tub in the freezer.

Truly a dining experience which not only caters for families, but one I can totally see as being a blast on a lads night out for example.

Thank you 359 for making our afternoon and setting us up for a lovely evening. We will be adding you to all future itineraries when visiting Bognor, and will whole heartedly recommend you to family and friends.

Food was good, but owners allow guest to smoke on the small patio area on the back of building. When we have asked other guest politely if they could stop they refused and then when we have asked waiter if it is allowed to smoke here and if we can have another table the answer was quite bizzare - this is outside so this is place to smoke. How the situation was handled by the staff made me to reduce the mark for whole experience. Also we have spoked to another guest which decided to abandon order for theirs desserd and evacuate from this area of dense cigarette smoke... I would appreciate if we would be informed on the beginning that outside area is smoking zone before we have been sitted. On the end we have been given table inside where we have...

First time there. As we were early and the only ones there we had the owner's undivided attention. More came in afterwards but sat in the back. The food was plain but so tasty and just the right amount for me. The dessert was homemade a mousse type dessert cross between Tiramasu and cheesecake. Very rich. It's a Bulgarian Bistro. You could have added side orders but we opted out. The taste and texture makes up for the looks. As we told the owner we'll go back. We weren't rushed and enough time between courses to be comfortable and relaxed. I think Saturdays would be more busier.
