Aldwick Beach Cafe — Restaurant in Arun

We were lucky to get parked right next to the cafe on the hottest day of the year so far. We went down to the beach to catch the sea breeze and have a quick burger or sandwich and cola lunch. However, our timing was all wrong and the food queue was too long for us. So we had a double chocolate cone from the ice cream section instead and sat in front of the pretty beach huts watching everyone else swimming, paddle boarding and sunbathing nstead. Such a nice, quiet non commercialised, old fashioned beach. All pebbles with a fairly steep slope down the last 10 feet into the sea. Sorry, my photos didn't come out. I'll add them later...

Went for an ice cream. Had to queue for 20 minutes in bright/very hot sun. Eventually served by a nice girl at the ice cream window (the girl at the food window was very unhelpful & looked fed up). Very slow service & the girls had to share one card machine - more waiting. They need to improve the building to accommodate more staff & a better queuing system with some shelter from the sun. This is one of my favourite places, but a warning to visitors: The opening times on Google are not correct. As far as I'm aware, the café is only open from April to October. Also, since the café has been under new management, the link to a Facebook page is also out of date. It would be great if the new owners could get this changed and let us know when they're opening, as it's disappointing to drive down and...
