i give three stars only because the food is good. However, in light of covid 19 i thought better regulations would have been put into place... especially for such a big chain company. This is why my visit was upsetting. I entered to see absolutely none of the staff wearing face masks, although i know this is not compulsory everywhere else i have been any wait staff that come into close proximity have worn either full face visors or at least face masks. However the staff here seem to have absolutely no sense of safety and new regulations. When having the food delivered to me the weightier lent fully over me making me feel uncomfortable. I would like to mention that i did talk to the manager about my feelings, her response was that she had asthma and that face masks make her short of breath. A topic which i understand but i would like to counter that my sister has sever asthma and has been shielding for 4 months now... every time she leaves the house she wears a face mask. Just the other day she spent 6 hours in it ( just keep that in mind).
Another point of confusion and worry for me is ordering, as most are aware you go upto the counter and order yourself, why do you have three members of staff clumped chatting to each other ? i have to social distance at work so does everyone i know so why, when you staff are very visible are they not doing this. Furthermore, the attempt of a one way system seems to be one of the only new regulations put into place however you have not put any floor or visible signs to show this system and i witness one person be yelled at for going the wrong way. A point of sympathy as i had done the same thing because like i have said their are no signs to suggest a different way to go.
Lastly, why in such a massive place where only three other table were filled was a family of four placed in the booth next to ours? With so many places free it just seemed so silly !
To summarise although i will miss the sweet treats i will not be going again. I think its an awful example of social distancing and safety measures. The only part i commend is the wash station as you go in, but with all the other parts which made me feel unsafe its not a place i am willing to risk...
Read moreBeen many many times before (love the place!) But this time.... WOW. I want to say a massive thank you to Vic i think was the name, absolute credit to you please pass on my thanks. Brought my son today for his birthday and they brought his waffle with a candle in it!! And they sang happy birthday. It made his day! Thank you so so much. All of the staff are so lovely. Only one thing, nothing too bad, but the free milkshake (amazing offer for birthdays I may add so this isn't a moan and I'm very grateful) but I was charged and then told it would go straight back on my card but it hasn't. Hopefully will soon. Will be back very soon. Great place to visit with the kids. Service with a smile...
Read moreI was gobsmacked at the lovely service me and my partner and friene received yesterday at this particular Kaspa's.
We all know the drill at Kaspa's: yummy dessert at a decent price, with a kooky atmosphere.
However, the experience at my local branch (Colchester) is one of lukewarm food and mediocre service.
I can happily say that Vic took great care of us and our orders. Food arrived in a timely manner and Vic was outstandingly friendly, helping us with food and area recommendations.
The food was great and the waffles arrived piping hot and fresh.
I'll be coming back here again!
