Wonderful place. Highly recommended. Covid safe.
We hadn't booked so a reservation is needed. Bit the lovely lady found us a slot and we were very thankful as others didn't have as much luck. This is a very popular place.
Lots of hand held available. People spaced well. Service with masks and face shields. So all good.
Loads of delicious food on offer.
I had the full on ploughman's. And it was superb. Seriously enough food for two but for me it was a filling and delicious meal. Pork pie was off the scale. Meaty, delicious crumbly pastry. Jelly. Thick meat. With a blob of piccalily and hunk of brown bread it was awesome. Strong cheddar. Proper ham. All in all just delicious. Tea for two, big pot of Assam with a free refill.
K had a beautiful cheese scones with cream cheese and chutney. She loved it but I made sure I had a taste and I can testify that it was wonderful as well.
Funniest moment was mine host describing what Bovril is to a group of American (service wives?) Ladies having English Tea.
Bovril is lovely. Who doesn't like that unctuous, beefy, rendered cow broth lol. Personally I love it.
All in all a gem of a place and we shall definitely be a regular when we move...
Read moreYesterday, my family and I had just had a funeral for my mum and were looking for somewhere to go and have coffee when we came across the vintage blue tea room. When we walked in, we were greeted so well shown to a lovely table in a beautiful place. We all ordered some food and tea and I have to say it was probably the best sandwich that I’ve ever had!! the lady who owns the tea room was very friendly and chatty and made our visit there 2nd to none after such a sad day. I would recommend this tea room to anybody if they are visiting Lavenham. It’s a beautiful and very quaint Little house, the decor is very vintage and very warm atmosphere. The attention to detail with the food we were served was 2nd to none. My family and I will most definitely be telling other people to visit this beautiful place as we will now be frequent visitors ! whenever you want an excellent lunch or afternoon tea! Thank you very much for your hospitality on our arrival. You made a sad day a very happy and memorable...

More cakes than you can shake a stick at, with more interest on the menu. Superbly laid out with vintage quaint dressed tables. Customer rapour excellent, with great sense of humour and attentivesness. Seating, can accommodate people outside and in. Of course cakes tasted delicious, served with a little tumbler of matching ice cream - nice touch. Ample size teapots and of course china cups. Great place to bring well behaved kids who have been bought up to appreciate the finer things of life. The owner was very accommodating to a young man who asked for a sandwich to take away. I have to say the sandwich he received was NO ordinary sandwich. Beautiful thick cut bread with lashings of filling and wrapped up with a good quality serviette. This is what you call, a generous classy...
