Not dog friendly with insulting staff.
We had booked dinner, having been here several months ago with our two dogs and had a good time. We have a new puppy, and she was in a pram. We informed the staff when booking on the phone, and weâre told itâs not an issue as they are dog friendly. She barks a little before settling down, but as soon as we tried to sit down, we were told we had to leave as she was too noisy before weâd even sat within about 20 seconds. Our other dogs were totally quiet. She never had the chance to calm down even. Clearly dogs are not welcome as they claim.
I tried to explain sheâs only a puppy and she would need a moment but was told rudely by the waiter he has a puppy and his dog doesnât bark!đ clearly heâs a dog whisperer. My sister in law said itâs not fair as she is better behaved than most children. We were told if she barks occasionally, we have to leave, so we went as dogs do bark from time to time when especially at a new place. We were told itâs well-behaved dogs only... I hate to think how theyâd be with smaller children or someone with a baby.
Only go here with a dog or children if they are silent! We will not be back, and if you have a dog, donât go here. They are not dog friendly at all. Staff need some serious training in how to deal with customers as their attitude was appalling if I spoke to my customers like that I wouldnât have any!!. Total opposite to the last team in the past, what a shame and a waste of an evening / 2 hours drive for...
Read moreCalled ahead for a table for Sunday lunch. Waited in the bar way past the time of our booking and had to ask staff if our table was ready as they didnât come and get us. We finally sat down nearly half an hour after our booked time with no explanation or apology for the wait although we had phoned through only 20 minutes prior to arriving. Restaurant was not overly busy. My husband and I both ordered a beef roast. Vegetables and Yorkshire pudding were nice but roast beef was grisly and inedible. My husband asked for steak knives as we couldnât cut through the beef which he mentioned to a member of staff who seemed unconcerned when it was mentioned. There was no usual check that everything was ok. Husband struggled on with his beef and ate it but I couldnât eat mine even though by then we were both very hungry. When our meal was collected and we reported again that it wasnât ok the staff member apologised but queried why my husband had eaten his. A staff discount was taken off as I couldnât eat mine but honestly for the price it was a complete letdown. A staff member also dropped some cutlery on the floor and picked it up and wiped it on his sleeve! Large cobweb across the window where we were sitting as well. Very disappointed and would definitely avoid...
Read moreVery disappointing, went for lunch, and it was a letdown. My partner ordered a burger, chips & and salad, I ordered an Ox cheek cottage pie, plus some drinks. The food arrived. My partner was OK, and mine wasn't. Mine should have had mash on it, but it had a savoury crumble on it! I tried the cottage pie, it was cold! I informed the waitress, she said sorry and took the plate away, asked me if I still wanted my meal I said yes. She did return a few minutes later and told us the cost of the drinks would be taken off the bill, couple of minutes later she brought a bowl of chips, and said chef was sorry, your meal will be with in in 5 minutes. I had neither asked for or wanted the chips. By the time my meal did arrive, my partner had finished his lunch. My pie this time did have mash on top, but there was more mash than anything. The filling was only just warm when I was asked if everything was OK, I did explain my disappointment at not eating the same time as my partner and the quality of the food. The reply was, " Well, we've taken the cost of your drinks off." Not really the best service to give, we won't be going back, and I would tell people...
