A lovely little shop / cafe in Lavenham, kids really wanted an ice cream, and me and the wife really wanted a hot drink.
Downstairs you can get take out ice cream and buy sweets / cake upstairs there is seating if you want to take it a little more relaxed. There was no one in the cafe part when we went, which is just as well as being an old building its a bit tight if a few people in there...! Kids loved their ice creams, one have a couple of different chocolate ones (scoop of chocolate and a scoop of mint chocolate) and the other had a random combo (scoop of cola cube and a scoop of orange). Its fair to say the orange was a big hit with both wanting it in the end (more than the chocolate to my surprise!)
Wife had a raspberry chocolate cake which was very nice and I had a cream tea, which to be honest I didn't see much of as everyone else ate most of it!! I got a few cups of tea out of the pot I had, so was nice and refreshed by time of leaving.
Great place if its not too busy, but be aware it's an old place so room is a bit...

I rarely make reviews and don't enjoy leaving negative reviews, however 3/3 ice creams tried today were unfortunately terrible. A long list of unexpected flavours drew us in from the street and I wished I had checked the reviews first.
Trying to be generous, the apricot and rhubarb flavours could best be described as edible. The elderflower was tasteless except for an odd hint of tree bark. All ice creams had a weird gummy texture with ice crystals on the inside of the ice cream itself (not freezer burn). Prices were average but they are absolutely not worth it. Please do yourself a favour and give the ice creams a miss.
On a more positive note, the staff were friendly, the aesthetic of the shop is nice and it smells like an old fashioned sweet shop...
Read moreGreat selection of vegan and vegetarian food, hunted high and low over Lavenham for vegan grub and found nothing but the usual plant based burgers that eateries seem to think that vegans subsist on, so was thrilled to find this little gem, great menu, good choice of mains and desserts as well as snacks, great atmosphere, guy who owned it was a great conversationist, he apologised profusely for talking too much but it was great to hear what he had to say, everything seems to be freshly made by him and his wife and tasted absolutely great. Huge selection of vegan ice cream, all created and named by themselves, and prices were quite reasonable. Would definitely recommend eating here. Very enjoyable...
