WOULD BE 1 STAR IF WE WERE EXPECTING QUALITY FOOD - WE KNEW THIS WOULD BE UNHEALTHY CHINESE TAKEAWAY STYLE BUFFET. Ate Saturday 3rd March. I called to book a table for two, and the girl didn't ask for a name, which I thought was odd. We arrived 8:30 Saturday PM and realised why; there was one other table in. We paid £27 for two buffets, half a coke and a pint of lemonade - not cheap by any standards, especially given the likes of Cosmo is £13 each. We were asked to pay up FRONT, again, odd. We sat down and got our first plate of food but towards the end of our first starters we realised we still hadn't received our drinks. Not good when there's only two tables in. As we were walking to get our next plate, I asked for the drinks and the girl first of all looked bemused and then asked us what we'd ordered. Again, not good considering she wrote it down on our 'receipt' less than 15 minutes ago. Fast forward 20 minutes and the other table had been gone 10 mins, and I'm pretty sure we were passively being told to leave. The girl who forgot our drinks was sweeping under all the tables including ones in front and behind us. The air con had been turned to 16C with the blowers on full. This was 9:15 by the way... We actually left because my partner was shivering and the cold had made her want the loo! With the general feel of the gents toilets upstairs, I advised she wait until we get home. Really disappointed as this is clearly a family business struggling in harsh times, but they really aren't helping themselves by making silly mistakes...
Read moreWe found hairs in my partner's food to which they said sorry it's a buffet there is nothing we can do.....it was cooked into the meat not just floating on the sauce. when I asked them to replace utensils on the the buffet as I had seen an individual licking his fingers after picking up a spare rib who then continued to use the majority of utensils down the buffet I was met with the same reply. Asked for a refund as by this point we had only had 1 plate of starters to which we were offered 2x £5 vouchers on our next visit which I can assure you will not happen and the person dealing with our complaint then came and chucked a ten pound note on the table and walked away. Overall I wouldn't waste good money on this place ever again and advise the owners to train staff in customer service and hospitality because neither were present...
Read moreI accidentally ordered from the wrong China Moon. This was a honest mistake and I contacted the restaurant as soon as I realised my mistake. Unfortunately the restaurant had cooked the order so I didn't expect a full refund. However, the cost to the restaurant would of been less than the cost to the consumer so I would of expected some compromise. China Moon would not compromise so I forfeited the whole cost of the order £50+. I know they have a business to run but I just think its greedy and they showed no compassion. NB - I am unable to rate the food quality and collection time as I never received the order. I am unable to submit this feedback without giving a star.
