Salt & Pepper Polish Restaurant — Restaurant in Barnsley

I am not Polish but I like the Polish culture, so when I saw this restaurant, I was intrigued, so I tried it .

The atmosphere is welcoming. The staff are very friendly, polite and there is a community sense inside. Even the customers are friendly and homely.

The speciality food is typically Polish, so be adventurous, but rest assured the food is very nice, tasty, and great value. The is also a wide choice for those who aren’t adventurous, and everything I have tried has been exceptional.

The location is not in the best of places, but the management has been creative, so this restaurant definitely lifts the character of the surrounding area and your spirit is lifted as it seems like a Balkan oasis.

Enjoy sitting outside with a meal, because even though it’s next to a road, it is quite and the owners have placed flowers to create a sense of beauty.

Enjoying a nice meal inside is also a treat in a warm, welcoming Polish atmosphere.

I highly recommended this place....

Update: Just been again. 2nd consecutive visit. Tried the pork neck and dumplings this time. Was excellent. Wish we lived closer. We will definitely be back when visiting again. Thank you so much.

Can't praise this place enough. Visiting the area I really wanted Polish food and so was delighted to come across this. The restaurant is small but very well laid out. The toilets are spotless. I had seen the menu beforehand so knew exactly what I wanted to order so did immediately. I ordered my favourite which is Chicken Devoly. I really wanted a yummy mushroom sauce to go with it but was advised they do not do it. Food arrived quickly and to my astonishment, with Mushroom Sauce! We had a lovely meal here for our first visit. It's a little gem. We got the impression Polish food is not spicy, but it is tasty. There are plenty of drinks in the menu. Choices of starters, main courses and deserts. Plenty of Pork and Chicken dishes but no beef. It didn't bother us. The prices are very reasonable, the waiter was exceptionally helpful and the restaurant was spotless and warm. As it's coming up Halloween the windows were decorated in such a way you can have a photo taken in it. There was an overlay on the table which looked like spiders webs. Children are welcome and high chairs provided for tots. There is even a play corner with toys, a small table and chair. A good experience. ...
