Boofy's — Restaurant in Barry

I wanted to write in as I think your staff need to have some compassion and think of how others feel and what they deal with . I visited today with My boy who is 9. He has celebral palsy and autism. He is in a wheelchair. We visited yourselves at 4.30 I queued up for ages as I could see you had seating. He struggles to balance his food in his wheelchair and needs a table to eat. He also has a massive phobia of seagulls. He has had them fly down and take food whilst he was eating in his wheelchair as he takes a while. When I got near the front I could see the seating was closed off. I asked politely and explained to an older lady with short hair could we sit down quickly. The tables hadn't been wiped down and still had things on them. She said if she did it for us she would have to do it for everyone. I didn't see the problem she could see he was in a wheelchair. Even the woman behind felt it was mean when she heard our conversation. I couldn't be asked to say anything I was tired from pushing him on the beach in his wheelchair and just wanted to sit down for Two minutes and have chips myself . I ordered for him and left. Went to Marcus next door and they were lovely and even though I had chips they let me sit down. I offered to buy a coffee but said no need to and understood. I also noticed this woman employed by you was really unkind and abrupt with the young staff. On 3rd of August I went on a day trip to Barry island as I've not been since in was younger. however I had a nice breakfast in Barry but when it was lunch time I went to boofy chip shop there and asked if they did haddock or any other fish as I am not a great liker of cod I got told "No only cod" sorry your not a real fish and chip shop if u don't do haddock or plaice or any other fish so I had pie and chip the pie was vile and disgusting I've never in my life seen a chicken and mushroom pie fill that was brown and not a creamy white ish filling the chip was not cook properly so I wasted £10 on a very vile disgusting lunch I never eat it after the first few chips and a bit of pie which was nasty and left a sour taste in my mouth after one bite I for sure won't be going back to this place again that's for sure plus the place did not look very clean behind the counter I think it needs a very good...

My family of 4 were stood outside of O'Shea's, waiting for them to open up. They were late and an employee of Boofy's told us we were queuing outside the wrong one! I thought that was cheeky, but the reviews of this chippy seemed good enough to try. Aren't we glad O'Shea's were late! Boofy's was brilliant! Honestly the best fish, chips and mushy peas since I can remember! The batter was so light, crispy and cooked to perfection! The chips were also light and crispy! Mushy peas were perfect consistency. The fish is cooked to order so be aware of a 10 minute wait. It's worth it though! Reasonably priced menu compared to where I live in the midlands made for a happy wallet! If I'm ever in Barry Island again, I hope nothing changes and you're just as good as you were...
