Modest café situated right on Barry Island seafront. I wasn't expecting much in the way of either quality or value.
However I was very pleasantly surprised when my lunch arrived, to receive a generous slice of steak and ale pie which was absolutely packed with filling, a decent pile of nicely-cooked chips and peas, all served piping hot on a hot plate, just as it should be! It was also very nice that the gravy came separately in a jug with a lid, to keep the contents hot... brilliant!
The staff were clearly working hard during lunch service and yet still managed a smile and to exchange pleasantries.
I'll definitely be back, next time I'm in town. Thank you and keep up...
Read moreSuch nice people! We couldn't pay by card for a couple of coffees last week because their machine was down. The owner insisted we have them anyway and pay next time we were in Barry. We were complete strangers to them, you don't get that service very often these days! Returned today to pay what I owed and bought some more coffees and take-away sarnies. They were so tasty! Really fresh and packed with filling and salad. So impressed. And the coffee - Lavazza - as good as you'll find anywhere. Will definitely give them my custom in the future....
