Modest café situated right on Barry Island seafront. I wasn't expecting much in the way of either quality or value.

However I was very pleasantly surprised when my lunch arrived, to receive a generous slice of steak and ale pie which was absolutely packed with filling, a decent pile of nicely-cooked chips and peas, all served piping hot on a hot plate, just as it should be! It was also very nice that the gravy came separately in a jug with a lid, to keep the contents hot... brilliant!

The staff were clearly working hard during lunch service and yet still managed a smile and to exchange pleasantries.

I'll definitely be back, next time I'm in town. Thank you and keep up...

Such nice people! We couldn't pay by card for a couple of coffees last week because their machine was down. The owner insisted we have them anyway and pay next time we were in Barry. We were complete strangers to them, you don't get that service very often these days! Returned today to pay what I owed and bought some more coffees and take-away sarnies. They were so tasty! Really fresh and packed with filling and salad. So impressed. And the coffee - Lavazza - as good as you'll find anywhere. Will definitely give them my custom in the future....

Great fish and chips and much more in the Cafe on the front at Barry Island if you are looking out to sea it is on the right hand side under cover and is well situated to be able to sit inside cafe or sit on the wall to enjoy meal. If you are sitting outside for food do remember there are seagulls around who like to share what you have so please be careful not to let them pinch your food before you enjoy it yourself. Always place packaging and bits of food left in the waste bins provided do not litter the beaches or frontage with litter...

It's the best kind of cafe: Excellent food (much is homemade) served hot and fast. Very good value for money, and friendly staff. I had what certainly looked and tasted like homemade steak and ale pie, with chips and peas, and my own big thermos jug of proper tasty gravy. Wonderful. Girlfriend had sausage, egg, and chips. Sausages were very nice, eggs perfectly cooked. Chips hot and crisp. Stepson just pinched some of ours. But it makes up the fourth generation to enjoy eating here. Will definitely be back 😁

Amazing breakfast and coffees (including gluten free options). I am coeliac and had beans and cheese on gluten free toast and an iced latte. My partner was able to have an oat milk iced latte (he’s lactose intolerant). The food is great value for money and the staff are super friendly! Thanks!
