During my recent visit, I was pleased to find that the chips were well-cooked and enjoyable, and I also appreciated that the shop offers proper meat sausages in batter, which is a refreshing change compared to many places.
However, there were a number of concerns that unfortunately impacted the overall experience. Firstly, the curry sauce served was watery and cold, which made it unappetising. In addition, while the sausage itself was good quality, the batter was excessively greasy and difficult to enjoy.
A much more concerning issue was related to food handling. I observed a young server taking a sausage from another customer’s tray—after the food had already been served to them—and placing it back into the serving oven, before replacing it with a battered sausage instead. This raised significant hygiene concerns, as once food has left the serving counter, it should not be returned to the hot hold or offered to other customers under any circumstances.
Finally, I noted that there are very few tables available for customers wishing to dine in, which makes it difficult for people to comfortably enjoy their meal on the premises.
While I did find some positives, I feel these issues—particularly the hygiene practice observed—should be addressed urgently to maintain food safety and improve the overall...
Read moreToday was a lovely day spent with the family at Barry island, sunny warm day 16C, and surprisingly the price of the Cod & Chips was on the steep side of £12, so I purchased 5 lots at £60, but the quality of food was excellent. Everything was fresh, the chips were fluffy and the cod was fresh with a beautiful crispy batter coating. I was overwhelmed and surprised at the same time to see 5 teenager girls working behind the counter today running the business like clockwork, and worked like an well oiled cog machine. Small batches of chips were thrown into the oil every so often to obtain freshness and orders were flying in via the touch screen to pay via card. An excellent example of teamwork I have witnessed today, that would beat other businesses in the same trade to shame. The key is to keep things simple, by not making the menu so complicated, keeping it consistent and maintaining quality. I would of preferred the malt vinegar to taste a bit stronger, and get an extra pair of hands just to give the rest of the restaurant a wipe down during busy periods!
Overall excellent 👌. Keep up the hard work ladies, you all are professionals in the making.

Read moreWe'd just come out hankering for some food after a 4 hour car journey and thought why the hell not go for some fish and chips. Upon arriving at the beach we passed a few establishments that didn't catch our attention or appeal. However as soon as we passed the corner and caught site of O'sheas it screamed "Eat Me!". The gurgle or hunger our bellies let out in agreement sealed the deal and we brought some food. Braving the wind and cold we dived straight into some fresh fluffy chips and amazing fish. At only £8 ish it was rather large and full of food which satiated our needs. Thank you O'sheas!
We are just sad that there were no pickled eggs, we only assumed it was to do with the bird flu.
The only reason I'm not giving it a 5* is that the cueing system could do with a revamp or an outside sign saying "wait here" then...
