Decided to leave it a day to post my review as I was really not happy with my visit on Friday. We decided to pop for a quick bite. Once seated two other couples came in and were attended to before us. I had to ask the manageress(?) (she wasn't wearing a uniform) for someone to take our order (a tea and a hot chocolate and 2scones). Once ordered about 5minutes later a guy came back to tell us that they didn't have any cherry scones left. So my wife ordered two different flavoured macarons. Another 10minutes later, the girl came over with 1macaron and no cream for my scone. I dared ask her for butter and the girl lifted one of the glass jars without saying anything. So I asked, where's the cream, "you have to ask for the cream". No. It states on the menu that it comes with jam and cream. "So do you want cream, sir" This was in a very condescending tone. She whisked off and brought my wife's other macaron and threw the cream on the table without a word. The food and drink were lovely, but the staff's attitude just did not sit well with us. The manageress didn't even bother to ask how our visit was, otherwise we'd have told her. (Maybe the waitress already had a word in her ear) We won't be back, but I do hope they take this...

We popped in here for breakfast after a night out in Belfast to celebrate our wedding anniversary and it was just the perfect way to end our brief time away. I had the French village breakfast and my wife had the breakfast board. I'm sorry I've no photos but when you set a feed like that down in front of me I don't generally hang around admiring it and taking pictures! It might not seem like much from the description on the menu but let me tell you, you'll not need lunch in a hurry. My wife had a beautiful croissant and here's a thing, our coffee was hot and stayed so nearly too the last drop. It might seem odd but it's amazing the number of places that can't achieve such a simple task. Staff are brilliant; friendly, helpful, efficient. A great addition to the burgeoning Belfast...

Their bread is great, but the service not so much. The queues are long (due to inefficiency, not demand). I ordered two take away pancake stacks, got home to find they have given us the wrong order and won't answer the phone (three attempts) to do anything about it so I guess I'll make my own lunch and throw the £12 in the bin. Not the best use of my lunch hour and certainly did not achieve the desired effect of cheering up an already miserable Friday.

Edit: After reaching them via email they offered a generous discount code as an apology for the mix up with the order, so updating from one to four stars, since the bread is excellent and the service is working to improve. Perhaps when we get to try the dishes we ordered they might even get to...

This is a beautiful and very charming restaurant. It has a beautiful quaint environment and projects an intimate setting. It is in the centre of Belfast making it very accessible to all. When you first walk in you are met by the most pleasent smells of freshly baked traybakes, food and roasted coffee. You are always met by a very hospitable member of staff who is more than happy to recommend things to you. The food is mouth watering and is presented beautifully, I have yet to have a bad meal here or experience. I would definitely recommend French village and look forward to my next visit.

A really nice place to have lunch on the Lisburn Road Belfast. I ordered the French Toast with extra Bacon and a Cappuccino. Toast was a thick doorstop of a chunk of sweet bread that was crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside. I got extra bacon as the pup was with me. You probably wouldn’t need extra on your own. Cappuccino was creamy and full of flavour. Perfect brunch! I would highly recommend 😎

Great location and lovely relaxed and comfortable interiors. Staff are pleasant and happy - service is relaxed and with a smile! We were offered top ups for a pot of tea and the food came out piping hot and absolutely delicious. Save room for dessert. They have a great range and you have the option to take a sweet treat home with you if you've over indulged over lunch or dinner!
