McDonald's — Restaurant in Belfast

I originally posted a 3 star review for this McDonalds in July 2022 but since posting the McDonalds has been closed while it underwent one of the new McDonald upgraded stores. I have left the original review below as some things have improved but in general it has become even worse and only worth the 2 stars now.

The better bits...well there is no longer queues of uber and just eat drivers congragating in the main part of the restaurant but they still park all over the place outside blocking customer parking spots and blocking the main entrance out of the Restaurant. I ended up going in twice today once for breakfast and I had to push past 4 McDonald workers standing outside smoking and vaping. This is not a good look and if they want to smoke then it should be somewhere else so customers don't have to endure it. This evening I called in to grab a cold drink only to find that they didn't have any cold drinks on sale. Not particularly good.

Like most McDonalds this one suffers more than most from the Uber Factor. To many delivery drivers who block both the restaurant and the parking, often causing hazards by simply abandoning their vehicles in front of exit roads. The things you see happen in this McDonalds branch defy belief. The majority of the staff seem to treat working here like a youth club rather than a job. Making TikTok videos, dancing, swearing, throwing stuff and I kid you not, giving each other shoulder massages while taking customers orders are just some of the things I've witnessed. This culture is aided and encouraged by the young manager who instead of helping sort out minor issues likes to make faces and mock younger inexperienced colleagues. This might go some way to explaining why I have never had an order right in the several times a week I frequent it and been overcharged. No apology either. Oh and if you use a MyRewards code when ordering the place almost goes into meltdown. The most ridiculous event was when they sent me to an ordering bay which was already in use. This meant I was left blocking customers behind for nearly 5 minutes. Again there was no apology just a shrug of the shoulder. I have visited this McDonald's on numerous occasions and have always found the food to be exactly what I expect at McDonald's. Also I have found the staff that I have dealt with to be friendly, pleasant and helpful. However I visited on May Day Bank holiday with family including a disabled member. Getting into the car park was a bit of a nightmare. The tail-back from the drive-through totally blocked the entrance so that customers who wanted to park in their car park and go into the restaurant could not get in. This queue also blocked the road for drivers who wanted to drive on down the street. Meanwhile car drivers who were aware of this drove in the exit. When I did get into the car park I found a family parked in the disabled bay eating their meal - they had no blue badge. This McDonald's really needs a member of staff to man the car park. I know that this problem is due to the irresponsible customers but I am deducting a star since I think that McDonald's should do...
