Post House — Restaurant in Belfast

Visited for food on Sunday evening as a family of 4, food was really nice, atmosphere was nice with a good musician and the place is very nice inside. Service quality really really poor unfortunately. We arrived a little early for our booking so were happy to wait until table was ready however after waiting half an hour past our booked time we still hadn’t been seated or approached with an update. When I did enquire about our table we were asked if we wanted to just sit where we were which wasn’t at all suitable for two adults and two toddlers. We were then moved back downstairs and left with menus for another 20 minutes without staff coming near us to the point I had to go up to the bar and order the food, at this point kids were getting fed up. Eventually food arrived over an hour after our booking time, we had to ask for cutlery as none had been provided. Despite the food arriving quickly when we finally managed to order, the standard of service made the whole experience unpleasant. Staff made apologies and offered some free desserts which didn’t turn up, overall nobody seemed to be taking any ownership and we were left to ourselves unless asking staff who passed by the table for attention. This place has a really nice vibe and the refurb is great, but the service is lacking and the food is poor.

Went on a Sunday for a roast, husband got fish and chips. Food took ages, and when it arrived it was two fish and chips. We watched as they left the food sitting on the bar upstairs while we waited for the roast to be made... Was cold when it finally made its way back. The food was nothing to rave about.

We thought we'd go again as they're new and everyone deserves a second chance and it's truly beautiful inside with an amazing atmosphere.

Got Guinness pie and a beef dipping sandwich. Guinness pie was just gravy with frozen puff pastry and sandwich was a hotdog roll filled with poorly seasoned beef, we ordered chips with this but sadly they never arrived. Food just super disappointing again for the cost. Server got order wrong and was nowhere to be found to fix it. The menu looks fab but it's really not up to the standard this beautiful space is aiming to deliver, and frankly both times we've eaten here the food has been poor.

Long story short, go for drinks but don't bother wasting your money on the food, you can eat frozen vegetables and hotdog buns at home and save...

Was not pleased with the service provided. Discussed the curry of the day and the beef hamburger with the server and decided to go with the Thai curry. Meal came out and it was the beef hamburger; was told that was what I ordered and clarified that it was not. A few minutes later the Thai curry came out; no flavour; served with a flat bread - not naan and rice. Red curry Thai should have been spicy; definitely was not. Looked and tasted like butter chicken but was assured it was Thai curry. When time came to leave; I tapped my payment thinking it was right. Only while waiting did I look at the bill did I notice that the bill was wrong; I had been charged for 3 extra drinks at the bottom of my bill. Brought this to the servers attention and she went and advised someone else who came out and refunded the amount. No apology; nothing. Food had no flavour; wrong bill amount and no apology for the inconvenience. Pub does have a nice atmosphere: not the greatest layout for sports watching. Bench seats do not provide a Good TV...
