The Marcus Ward — Restaurant in Belfast

I attended the Marcus Ward during a Stag-Do/ rugby world cup final. Once we got there the venue was relatively quiet, the premises was clean and well kept, although however, even though it was practically empty at this point, the service was very slow. Once we'd been shown to our table and ordered our drinks, we waited to about 30 minutes before being asked for what food we wanted. After a further 20 or so minutes, the starters came out (the food was alright, certainly doesn't justify the price). At this point we ordered our mains. And I say with all honesty, it was again a further 30-40 minutes before we got our mains. The food itself, was incredibly vague in it's description on the menu, I did not get what I was expecting, nor did anyone else at the table, it was just far too minimal (again it didnt justify the price).

We visited on Friday night for drinks upon the recommendation of a friend. The cocktail menu and range of beers and craft ales is very good but unfortunately the service was extremely slow. The first drinks order took a while to arrive (for three cocktails and a beer) and once we had finished with those we waited and waited for the next order to be taken but none of the waiting staff came or even walked by our table for us to get thier attention. It wasn't that busy either, (bar staff even had time to throw bits of lime or something at the passing waiting staff). After a frustrating wait we went to the bar ourselves, paid and left. The mandatory 10% service charge was the final bitter taste upon leaving. We had planned to stay here for the nights drinking but left for somewhere else as I doubt the service would have...

Wow, what a find. Found this cocktail bar by accident and I am so glad we did. Second night visiting it in a row. When we arrived at 6pm on Friday, it was happy hour, £6 all cocktails. There were a band playing music and the atmosphere was amazing. The staff made lovely cocktails for us just by listening to our drink choices.
