I was really looking forward to this as I hadn't had rice for over a week. ( a rare occurrence) Sadly, I was very disappointed. We had spare ribs with bbq sauce and lettuce wraps for starters. The ribs were adequate and the bbq sauce was just bright orange with no taste. It was quite bland. The lettuce wraps had a nice flavour but lacked condiments that usually accompany it. ( hoi sin sauce, chopped chillies etc). We finished it as we were really hungry. For my main, I had the beef and broccoli stir fry - this was overpowered by garlic which was not pleasant. The broccoli was blanched and left with the beef in the middle. The broccoli was still very crunchy and wet - I like my vegetables al dented but it was uncooked. The beef had too much bicarbonate of soda and was wobbly and soft, yet very chewy. I left over half of it. The boiled rice was good which I ate with husband's chilli chicken. That tasted ok, it was freshly made but I suspect the sauce was pre made - it tasted quite processed. Husband also ordered a portion of roast duck which is not usually recommended as it's not a Cantonese restaurant that specialises in roasts. It was flavoured with soya sauce. The service was ok and a bit soulless. Really poor...
Read moreThe incredible owner of this restaurant walked back and forth in the rain to my hotel across the street to deliver my food and allow me to pay with my one credit card I have left after everything else had been hacked, preventing me from paying for anything. I was afraid to use the Just Eat delivery company because they lied about delivering food to me. I called him both to warn him against using the fraudulent delivery company and to see if someone could deliver his restaurant's food to me such a short distance. I have developed a nerve condition from being in chronic stress and fear where my feet can suddenly go out from under me without warning. It suddenly started to rain hard and I knew I was even more likely to slip and fall on the wet sidewalk. I HAD to ask for help even though I have hated troubling anyone my whole life. I'm SOOO GRATEFUL...
Read moreI have tried so many Chinese restaurants all over locally and indeed a few in the world. Getting upstairs was a hard job with my arthritis. Now I was here before and decided to try again. Service was initially quick. I ordered a fried prawn and mango starter. Came quickly. About 6 medium prawns in a sickly sweet mango strum. Overall poor value and lacked class. For mains I ordered Mongolian beef sizzling and fried rice. The sauce was good with a wee kick. Beef though soft was chewy. Fried rice came instead of boiled rice I ordered. Pretty plain it was. Staff attentative. With a glass of white wine came to £38.00.Very expensive for quantity. Over rated place. Still think lemon grass Holywood is better....
