Extremely disappointing experience. Drove past and saw that it was very busy so thought I'd give it a try. I'd seen this place previously was all over media(must of paid alot of money to media to get that much exposure) Prices are expected for a artisan bakery however the products where extremely disappointing! The pan au chocolate looked amazing in the shop. When I got home to try it was extremely hard and had a very bad burnt taste to the pastry. Croissant was also the same - hard and burnt tasting. Chocolate brownie was OK but nothing special. Don't think I would go back again. Other bakeries around the area are much better..... Just extra note after feedback from bakehouse... ... Main reason for Google reviews is to give 100% honest feedback on my own personal opinions on my experience. I used my OWN hard earned money to purchase these products and I didn't ask for a refund. Even though these are handmade surely the chef should of done a quality check on all products to ensure they don't look burnt before selling to customers. Also just to add there are only 5 5 star reviews out of 9 reviews with other reviews from 1 to 3 stars. The review count did not drop overnight.

The array of bread and pastries are great, with huge variety of both sweet and savoury options to have in or take away. Following suit, the menu is HUGE, especially for brunch, with lots of creative and unique options that you wouldn’t find elsewhere, mostly spins on brunch classics. We had the brisket benny, which was pretty nice. Pulled brisket and hollandaise sauce, with poached eggs and an English muffin. It was good, but didn’t quite live up to our excitement when we read it on the menu, falling a little flat. That being said, it was tasty and we will sure be back to try some other stuff as it all looked fab. I had a plain Crossiant, which unfortunately was verging on stale. Good flavour, but it was very hard and really wasn’t even close to my dreams of a flakey and light pastry. Oh well. The teas we had were very tasty, and the vibes in the place are pretty cool. There’s many rooms to choose from, so it does feel cosy and atmospheric. The staff were also nice, being pretty attentive and got the job done.

A Hidden Gem – Wholesome Food & Great Coffee at Bakehouse We recently visited Bakehouse and was absolutely blown away. From the moment we walked in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere set the tone for a fantastic experience. The food was nothing short of outstanding – wholesome, hearty, and clearly made with care and quality ingredients. Every bite felt like comfort on a plate, full of flavour and freshness. We tried a couple of their dishes (se pics) and each one was delicious, satisfying without being heavy – the kind of food that leaves you feeling genuinely nourished. And let’s not forget the coffee – smooth, well-balanced, and just what I needed to complement the meal. Whether you're popping in for a quick brew or staying for brunch, Bakehouse hits the mark. I’ll definitely be back. A real treasure for anyone who appreciates good food and a relaxed, friendly vibe. Andy & Julie

I literally left the cafe an hour ago with two donuts and a pear tart in tow. I'd parked at Duke Street thinking I only had an hour and was shocked after I got my cakes to see it's two hours! Unless I'm in a parallel universe I think they've extended the parking time allowed which makes the prospect of eating in so much easier. I'd read the reviews and they are very mixed. I'd been here once before ages ago and couldn't remember what I thought so I was curious to try again. It did not disappoint! The atmosphere is ultra cool, staff are pleasant, hipster and chilled, reminded me of walking into a cafe in Muswell Hill or Notting Hill. Loved it and if I'd realised there was longer free parking I'd have stayed in. I had a strawberry donut and a vanilla one. (Can't be bothered with the UK spelling.) These were beautiful! Real bloomin donuts, none of this baked rubbish which is heavy like concrete. These donuts which were generously sized, were light and fluffy with a beautiful caramelised bite to them. The strawberry one was full to the brim of jam (As I write I want it all over again!) The vanilla one was full of a lovely vanilla custard and the pear tart was great. No soggy bottoms here. Pastry with a perfect bite and beautiful fresh pears on the top. I'll admit, I can't relate to the negative reviews one tiny teeny bit. What I do know, is that they're meant to be opening one in Wylde Green which is just around the corner from me, and I know that I'm going to have to practice willpower of steel if these cakes were anything to go by! The star of the show for me? Oh, that strawberry donut!! Oh and at £11.50 for three great quality cakes, the price is of value. A success I'd say. Can't attach photos as I'd inhaled them before I could...

Very disappointed. I saw the previous reviews with regards to quality of food in this place and the passive aggressive response from manager but still decided to give a chance. Unfortunately it didn't took me by surprise and it was just simply average. The " mint tea" was a glass of hot water with some mint leaves in it and it cost £3 which I thought was slightly over the top! We've had some Italian toastie and goat cheese toastie which was nice. We took away some cakes which one of cinnamon swirl - very dry and bland with next to none cinnamon/ sugar trace in it as well as a piece of brownie - nice, slightly too dry and crunchy on the edges, definitely not something i will remember as a great brownie. Both cakes just over £3 each which again, slightly overkill for what it was. The biggest disappointment was the " seeded sourdough" loaf which was over £4 and we only realise as we got home that the bread itself was very light which is unusual for a sourdough, when we cut into it, the bread have nothing to do with sourdough but rather is full of air and it taste like a cheap bloomer. Staff friendly and welcoming which is definitely a positive but overall we would not recommend this place to anyone nor would we be...

I’ve just been to Bakehouse, Sutton Coldfield, I am so disappointed. I was out walking the dogs, on my way to tesco’s for a crosssint and bread (wish I had kept going). I thought I’d give Bakehouse a go, I live, literally a stones throw away, so if my experience had been positive. It may have been a regular thing. The shutters were down but the lights were on, I noticed the sign outside said 8.30am opening. Which was fine, it was 8.25, I was happily waiting outside, when a woman saw me, she glared at me from inside. After a few moments, she opened the door and asked could she help me? I said I wanted bread. She said they open at 8.30, I agreed, said I read the sign. She was abrupt and had a stern face. She begrudgingly hinged the door open and walked inside. I checked the time it was 8.28, I don’t usually leave reviews, especially negative ones but when I got home I was telling my story, it just was a never unnecessarily abrupt and hostile exchange šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø then the granary bread and crossaint was Ā£6.70. The crossaint was hard and I won’t be going again. Very disappointing šŸ˜ž no smile, no customer service whatsoever, I was made feel I was putting her out, making her open and...
