I recently had the pleasure of stumbling upon Pitalicious, a charming Arabic cafe nestled in Sutton Coldfield. While searching for a place to dine near Good Hope Hospital, I was drawn to its reddish paint, old-school paintings, and pictures adorning the walls, and the nostalgic touch of the old-school lamps. Little did I know that stepping inside would transport me to the vibrant streets of Cairo.
I opted for the mix shawarma in a wrap, known as laffa, which was reasonably priced. As I took my first bite, I was instantly transported to the bustling streets of Cairo. The taste, texture, and flavour were an authentic representation of the shawarma I had enjoyed during my travels. It was an absolute delight to find that the owner coincidentally hailed from Egypt, which further enhanced the genuine experience.
If you find yourself in or around Sutton Coldfield, I highly recommend paying a visit to Pitalicious. Whether you're a fan of Middle Eastern cuisine or simply in search of an authentic culinary experience, this place won't disappoint. The taste of the food, the nostalgic interior, and the friendly atmosphere will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression. Take a step into Pitalicious and let it whisk you away to the vibrant...
Read moreMy first visit on Friday in the early afternoon, it was quiet & i was the only customer there,
The menu looked great & its a welcoming decor inside,
The two staff were okay, its the usual for many Leb, Turk or Erbil based restaurants to communicate in their own friendly style,
I was keen to try their overnight marinated chicken & their slow cooked methods,
So, i ordered a half grilled chicken with very hot spices, it was served with a good portion of salad, & i had also ordered Masala chai,
On serving the food, he remembered & sked me, if i already had the chai ?
My first experience was less exciting, because the salad did not look or taste fresh, the chips with skin were not fresh & too hard to bite, the chai was not hot enough, & the grilled slow cooked chicken was the shape of a long flat bread, with more bones than meat, & it was disappointingly too hard to bite easily,
Maybe i should have tried the fillet burgers, for softer bites,
I noticed the online orders being prepared in the background & delivery couriers visiting the...
Read moreBeen here a couple of times now, we've had the box meal with felafel, mixed shawarma and kofte between the family, excellent food, the felafel were light and not at all greasy, the salads are delicious, the parsley Salad was a revelation as was the fermented/pickled turnip (but be warned it's salty - I personally love it, my wife doesn't) there are a good choice of soft drinks, mocktails if one wishes and a range of teas, again I rather like the green mint tea, the sweets are mostly based around the baklava idea though I enjoyed the knafeh (if I've spelt that incorrectly - apologies) and the cheesecakes and other desserts look tempting but to be honest the portions are so generous youll probably have to take dessert away as we did! Service is both charming and really helpful, I use a wheelchair for anything but short distances and staff came out to hold the door and help me in without being requested. The toilet was clean and reasonably easy to access on the occasions we visited but I'm not sure about loo access whilst in...
