We attended pizza by Goli Sutton Coldfield for a family celebration. On arrival, we were greeted politely and taken to our table. It was a very bright and inviting restaurant and also very clean. Polite, helpful and welcoming staff members. We were asked if would like to order our drinks while making our food choices, which we did. They arrived swiftly. We were given plenty of time to look through the menu before someone arrived to tell about the specials for that day. We then ordered, and our starters arrived again swiftly and piping hot. (Which is always nice). On finishing those, we then had our mains arrive and again piping hot again a positive. We were offered refills for our drinks, but we were fine. The food was delicious and tasteful, we ordered a mix of Italiandishes and pizzas. I had the carbonara, and it was lovely (not had that in a while). All members of our group, including children, were very happy with their orders. Then, to top it off, the cake we had brought for our celebration was brought to the table, and staff joined in with singing happy birthday, which was a lovely touch. Prices were about right, and our bill costing around £190 for four adults and two children, including drinks. One other thing is there is a £10 per person booking charge and no refund if you cancel or do not attend, but this is taken from your final bill at the time of payment. (Not sure if this is a good thing or bad thing!!). Overall, it was a lovely evening meal, and I would highly recommend this restaurant, we booked for an earlier seating, but when we were finishing, it did look like it was getting very busy.

We popped in spontaneously and although the restaurant was full with a vibrant atmosphere we were kindly offered to wait at the bar for a table downstairs but opted to sit outside in the covered area where lovely soft blankets are supplied. We skipped straight to mains and ordered bread and olives while we waited, olives arrived, no bread. Food was really quick, hot and delicious, well flavoured and good portions. We had pizza, garlic bread, fries, and a couple of pasta dishes, everyone enjoyed the food, we opted for a couple of desserts, profiteroles and crespele which were equally delicious. Can we discuss the fact that they bring drinks that haven't been ordered? I have mentioned it to two people since my visit and both said it happened to them too which makes me question integrity. Reading the reviews I agree with the comments about waiting staff being quite pushy with specials and starters. Although the staff all seem lovely and charming I do believe it is a way to upsell as bringing another round of drinks it's a bit awkward to refuse them & recommending the special and not knowing the price until you get the bill (overpriced in my opinion) is just not what I expect. I do feel for the industry with the after effects of covid but I feel these strategies highlighted by lots of reviewers is not ethical especially in the current climate, some people may be on a budget, maybe a set menu would be a great idea?

Went for a birthday meal at 6.00pm on a Saturday and hugely regret choosing here and would not recommend at all. The whole restaurant was absolute chaos. They have packed far too many tables/chairs in there which seems greedy and ruins any authentic or relaxed environment. The restaurant was so noisy I couldn’t even hear relatives at the other end of the 6 person table. You basically had other parties elbows on your table. They had tucked a table right behind my chair so I couldn’t move in and out and I am 5 months pregnant which they could see. To get to the toilet you have to maneuver around a ridiculous and unsafe minimal space. At one point staff were lifting chairs over our heads and table to rearrange another table, it was absolutely ridiculous with no thought whatsoever for our dining experience. Staff couldn’t even reach the table properly to put food down and were asking us to take it out of their hands. Whilst there seemed to be an endless amount of staff working, they were all incredibly flustered and rushed each service. Food was average (too much oil on everything), didn’t order dessert as we wanted to leave as soon as possible. Went home with a headache and will not be returning. I would suggest saving money by not having so many unnecessary staff on at once to reduce the number of tables, to ensure guests can enjoy what a traditional ‘going out for a family meal’ experience should be.

Disappointing food, service and a big dip in experience.

We visited the restaurant to celebrate a family birthday this evening. From entering the restaurant to leaving, I very much felt we were an inconvenience on the staff.

We ordered 2 of the specials - lobster and prawn and Lemon sole. The lobster was mushy and unpleasant. We ordered these dishes without knowledge of the price as they were just shared with us via our waiter. The specials were £40-50 per plate and definitely not worth it.

The other 3 pasta dishes we ordered were okay at best but nothing to go out of the way to visit an authentic Italian restaurant for.

We had to find somebody to order more drinks and as there was a football match playing on a screen in the back, our waiter was not in any way attentive and we therefore had to ask for basics like pepper and water.

After a long wait after our mains, we attempted to order desserts and coffee. The waiter again focused on watching the football missed out my order entirely and we did not get a chance to add coffee. He was gone. When the desserts came he placed cutlery in front of me and I told him he had not took my order. He snatched the cutlery up and tossed it to the middle of the table.

The same waiter regularly came and stood at our table, punching things into POS device whilst watching the game from across the room. It appeared our table had the best viewpoint!

I gave up trying to order myself a dessert and after seeing/tasting those bought I was glad. A lot of whipped cream and not much else. The tiramisu lacked any distinct flavour other than cream and cocoa powder. There was a distinct lack of coffee and/or coffee liquor.

The chances of getting a coffee or anything further was unlikely. We had to ask for our bill twice and when we eventually got it the deposit had not been added and therefore it needed a third attempt.

When I finally got the chance to pay the bill, having not been asked at any point in the evening if our food was okay, could they get us anything else etc, I asked the lady if there was an issue with our table as the service and food had been appalling. She asked who had served us and listened to our complaint before asking me to choose a tip option on the card machine.

After paying it was clear that we just had to accept the poor service and pay £260 for the privilege.

Having used the restaurant previously for special occasions (usually birthdays) I could see a steep decline in the friendly and hospitable service we had previously received.

A hugely disappointing evening, spoiling a birthday family meal in...

Food - good. Service and overall experience not so great, and watch out for the hidden chilli charge! We were a party of 9 who had booked and paid a deposit. On arrival we were advised the people at our table were just paying (no problem). We were then ushered in to the restaurant to a different table which was basically two tables for 4. These were crammed up to the back of the chairs of another table with an extra chair on the end. So crammed it certainly wouldn’t have passed fire regs! By the time we’d ordered drinks the other party had left our original table so we asked if we could move but we’re told ‘no’ and that that table was for 13 people. We tried to explain we’d been told it was our table at which point the lady who greeted us said no again. Starters were nice, except the mussels which were tough and chewy. Then the mains came out but not for 3 of us. We waited but they then started serving another table, so we asked. Eventually they arrived to an apology that the 3 mains had got mixed up and sent to another table. We then tried to order dessert but there was no one to take the order as 3 waiters were being ‘talked too’ by the lady who greeted us (presuming this is the owner) next to our table. When ordering our mains, the waiter asked a few people if the wanted to “add chilli” to which two did. Anyway, mains were nice as was the desert. Then the bill arrived! The £90 deposit had not been taken off, ok maybe a genuine mistake. Then we noticed a few prices were not right. On querying we were advised that they charged £2.95 for “adding chilli”. This is not mentioned on the menu and wasn’t mentioned by the waiter. Eventually they took the charges off. Shame really as the food was nice but spoilt by the customer service. They seem to be too concerned cramming too many people in. As I say, fire regs would have had...

Got sat at the restaurant and was asked if I d like to drink something. I said a jug of water. The waiter brought me 2 bottles of mineral water. Salesman in action to make extra turnover before I started to eat anything. Although some customers would have been too ashamed to refuse the 2 bottle of mineral water. Those waiters try to play on the customer's psychologically.

Waiter recommended today ‘s special: spaghetti with sole fillet something like that. I asked for the price, the guy said: maybe £35. How would u recommend something without knowing the price? Do they think customers are like milky cows? Maybe they should write the today ‘s special on the blackboard and stick it to the wall in order to avoid any misunderstanding with the price.

We ordered some starters to share. Waiter gave us some dirty spare plates. plates out were dirty with tomato sauce or a piece of bolognese meat. The waiter when handing out the plates must have seen the stains but the bloke still handed out the plate like nothing was wrong.are we animals eating dinner? I told the guy plates were dirty so he went to get another 3 plates without any apologies.

Main courses were good. We needed extra water during the main course. Many waiters standing there without any eye contact with the customers. They were busy chit chatting between themselves. Once I got a waiter, I returned the empty jugs to him and said we need more water. The guy came back with one bottle for 6. The bar was just 2-3 meters away from our table. I mean is it asking too much? He had 2 hands. Even one hand would be enough to carry 2 jugs of water.

My final feedback: the food was good, no negative feedback about the food although little bit pricey . But management and workers need to improve their attitude towards customers. Maybe they are like that as Jewish...
