DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! Very disappointed with the service and food. After reviewing the positive views and also seeing the pictures of food, decided to give it a go! Went there for a family birthday! Initially was going to order the seafood bucket, but when we asked if they put in eggs and sweetcorn the waiter said no! He then said that if we wanted eggs, there would be an extra charge! He also told us that the main experience chef was on holiday. When we asked if the seafood was fresh, the waiter said that he would need to check. Surely if you work there you would know. We ordered the sea bass fish, paid £18.00, assuming we would get a good size fish, to end up with two small fish fillets, the ones you would normally get at Lidl for £2.99. Pls see pictures attached. Not worth the money a total rip off, unsure as to what all the hype is about. We also ordered two different pasta dishes, but the taste was very similar of both dishes. Was looking forward for a decent size fish for £18.00, not to end up with two small fillets. Then we felt rushed , as they started packing away, saying they were closing and stood over us watching till we finished. Please do not waste your money! We were a small party of two adults and two children. They did not go the extra mile either knowing that it was for a special occasion. We should have refused to pay for the fish, but did not want to spoil the special occasion!

I picked up a “too good to go” bag from the app. This was quite an interesting experience. I had a fish that I was uncertain as to its specific identity. This was battered in the style of the fried chicken that you get in takeaways. It was quite nice. I also had some yellow basmati rice, some pickled vegetables and some pitta and humous-like sauce. I wasn’t sure about the pickled veg but the fish itself was nice. I had to pick some bones out which was quite fiddly but I generally enjoyed the dish. All in all this was quite a different experience to what I have had with other “too good to go” purchases but I definitely had a nice lunch. I think the restaurant would be a nice place to come for a sit down meal. It was spacious, clean and inviting. I liked the concept as you don’t see many seafood restaurants in the West Midlands and the Asian twist added some spice.

If you like your food severely undercooked, with a likely chance of getting food poisoning you’ve come to the right place! It’s currently 7PM on a Friday, and look how busy this place is (pictures attached). It tells you as much. Don’t just generally look at reviews. Sort it from newest and this will tell you so much. This place must have been good, but gone down hill since. It all started well with good starters but it went down hill from there! Mains came an hour afterwards with no apology and the fish was as raw as the day it came out the sea! Disgusting! Look how busy this place is? Why did we wait so long and why was it so undercooked? It wasn’t as if the chef was off their feet!

Title: A Flavorful Journey to Egypt: A Delightful Breakfast Experience

Rating: ★★★★★

I recently had the pleasure of indulging in an authentic Egyptian breakfast that left me both satisfied and in awe of the culinary traditions of this ancient land. From the moment I stepped into the charming little eatery tucked away in a bustling corner of the city, I was greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality.

The chef, a master of his craft, welcomed me like an old friend and made me feel right at home. His passion for Egyptian cuisine was evident in every dish that adorned the breakfast spread before me. As I sat down, he graciously explained the different delicacies that awaited me, taking me on a sensory journey through the flavors and aromas of Egypt.

My culinary adventure began with freshly baked Egyptian bread, still warm from the oven, boasting a delightful blend of crispiness and softness. Its aroma alone was enough to whet my appetite. The chef encouraged me to try it with a variety of accompanying dips and spreads, each one bursting with vibrant flavors. From the creamy tahini to the zesty baba ganoush, my taste buds were treated to an explosion of textures and tastes that transported me to the bustling streets of Cairo.

The centerpiece of this magnificent breakfast was the ful medames, a traditional Egyptian dish made from slow-cooked fava beans. The chef's version was a revelation. The beans were perfectly seasoned, simmered to a velvety consistency that melted in my mouth. Topped with a drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of fresh herbs, it was a symphony of flavors that I won't soon forget.

No Egyptian breakfast is complete without falafel, and the chef's interpretation was exceptional. The golden, crispy exterior gave way to a fluffy, herb-infused interior that was simply divine. Served alongside a tangy tahini sauce, the falafel became a harmonious dance of textures and tastes.

As I savored each dish, the chef's hospitality continued to shine. He shared stories of his culinary journey and the cultural significance of the breakfast traditions in Egypt, immersing me in the rich tapestry of Egyptian cuisine. His genuine passion for his craft was infectious, and it elevated the entire dining experience to another level.

In conclusion, my Egyptian breakfast experience was a true feast for the senses. The chef's warm welcome, genuine hospitality, and culinary expertise combined to create an unforgettable dining adventure. I left with a satisfied belly, a newfound appreciation for Egyptian cuisine, and a desire to return and explore more of the culinary treasures that this beautiful country...

Calamari fish restaurant, I honestly don't know where to start, we initially visited this hidden gem in Birmingham to try their seafood as we lack decent seafood restaurants here in the midlands and this place came highly recommended to us, Upon our arrival, I was very happy to see that they had plenty of parking space which was very ideal for us, We came inside and were greeted by their very friendly staff who then took us on a tour to have a look at their fresh fish market which we were amazed by,

Before arriving I was very concerned that the place would smell very fishy considering they had loads of fresh fish on display but I was surprised that it wasn’t, they had a huge selection of very fresh seafood to choose from, varied between different selection of very fresh fish, prawns, crab, lobster and many more,

We then had the honour to meet the star of the place Chef Sawy (who btw is an actual celebrity who starred on Top Chef Middle East and was one of the three finalists in its first season, and I personally was very excited to meet as I watched the program before and I admired his dishes whilst on the show), he then explained to us the various types of fish they had and recommended few for us to try. My family and I tried some of the seafood from the menu and were very impressed by its delicious and fresh taste. I personally loved the calamari and how very fresh, tender and delicious it was, everywhere I’ve been for seafood calamari would be chewy, greasy and flavourless but this wasn’t the case at calamari fish market, every single item we’ve tried was as fresh it can be and full of flavour,, We all loved what we’ve ordered and left the place very impressed, we’ll definitely come back again and again and I highly recommend this place to seafood lovers in specific, you won’t be disappointed, it worth’s every penny and more and you must give it a try,, If I can give it 100 stars I would as they deserve it👌

A separate review will follow soon for an event which I’ve hosted at their place for a large group of...
