I had a list of items that I would've liked to have purchased at Zen today, but alas, they had virtually none of the items on my list.
So, I walked around the shop with commentary coming from an effeminate man who happened to be standing in the back of the shop.
Irish this, Irish that, he was very interested in Irish people all of a sudden, If it wasn't so obviously bigoted it would have been hilarious that he couldn't keep his horrid mouth closed. It was like a 1970s sketch of "In Sickness and in Health" or the other bad taste sitcoms of the era! You might think he would know better, but obviously not!
He had decided that I was Irish by dint of my hair colour and/or accent. It's kind of ironic, but Zen is in the Irish Quarter. He obviously doesn't know where the shop is located or the areas history. If you don't like Irish people I suggest you move your shop elsewhere, either that, or lose your attitude, It's not appreciated!
I had a shopping list of items that, if were in stock, could have added up to £30/40. In the end, I'm glad I only spent £8, although I wish I had spent nothing. People like you aren't worth doing business with.
And when I put my items on the counter and said "I would have bought more", the woman half way jumped down my throat, saying, "You can buy what you like!"
I then had to point out they had nothing on my list and said "Have a nice day!" She looked down towards the counter and responded in an unwelcoming tone, something or other that was not immediately audible!
I left wondering why I bothered, suffice to say, I will not be darkening the door of this shop again.
I travelled a distance to get to Zen today in sweltering heat, not worth the time, energy, or money, anything I bought here could have been bought on Amazon for less without...
Read moreI came to the zen shop a few months ago for a reading with Mel, and I would seriously recommend everyone to have a reading with her (or just here at all!). Whether or not you're spiritual or more sceptical, it is such a lovely experience that I'd recommend for anyone. It truly helps open your eyes to things and brings you a fresh perspective, which I found so refreshing. Mel is such a warm welcoming person too and I immediately felt so comfortable, which made the whole process even better! I even still get monthly card updates which is so thoughtful. From start to finish I had such an amazing time and I still really recognise all the things discussed in my reading in my life now and I will absolutely be coming back. The shop is so gorgeous too, with a huge range from beautiful crystals to jewellery and candles. For anyone even considering coming here or starting a spiritual journey, don't hesitate at all it will 100% be...
Read moreUpon entering the store, I felt judged by the staff working there. Giggling and looking over at my friend who was with me at the time and; They did not seem friendly and we're incredibly judgemental despite not saying anything at all! The looks and childish behaviour we received said enough! The store did not feel or look very "witchy", bar the crystal selection and other few pieces such as the little decor range they had. It is a Buddhist feel, and if you are looking for Wiccan/pagan/heathen supplies, this is NOT the place. And more so, not very spiritual, professional and open people run this place! Do not reccomed. Perhaps it was an error labelling it as a place of witchcraft...
