Went here with a friend recently who was recommended this place by someone else. Once seated, we did ask for recommendations on what to have, unsurprisingly it was pretty much the most expensive items on the menu (which I don't mind so long as the taste is just as high), they sold the burgers and other recommendations extremely highly, so we decided to take the bait. For starters, we had the loaded nachos: these were good, but didn't contain enough Mince to complement the quantity of nachos themselves, nor the cheese condiment which actually comes separate (metal tub on the side), taste wise nothing special just your average loaded nachos, I have had better elsewhere, however, would I order again, yes. We also got the lamb chops to start and they were disappointing, they weren't very hot, lukewarm if anything and just smothered in BBQ sauce, would I order these again, no. For mains we had 'The Belly Buster' which the person recommending stated you must upgrade to the 'Signature fries'. When the burger came to the table First Impressions Were Great! Looked the Belly Buster it was sold as, however when looking at the Signature Fries they were a big let down, they just looked extremely greasy and the 'Special Sauce' was only drizzled on top slightly, taste wise they were soggy, no crunch, I would recommend going with the standard fries if you prefer crunchy fries or want to eat them separate to your main meal too. On to the burger...wasn't impressed but wasn't entirely let down. The latter just being down to the quantity of it. The let downs were, it's just a chicken breast piece which has been massively flattened to look the part, so you actually get a very thin piece of chicken (not bad for some), the beef patty was decent, just not flavourful as much as I've had elsewhere. The goujons were your supermarket goujons, which was very disappointing, the turkey rashers were cold, the sausage which was a standard sausage actually tasted decent, and the whole burger was put together in a kind of clunky way, that being said it did kind of work for it. I would advise to include some more sauce on the burger itself as it has a lot of dry elements and by the end of the burger we just packed it up to take away because it was just too dry. Would I order this again, no, this is a hard pass. Quite annoyed as the first impression was great, until you start to chow down on it, I think every element is made individually and doesn't work collaboratively.
This place does have toilets (very clean so a thumbs up there). Sadly they don't take card (at the time of writing as advised by staff). Seating is plentiful and has an upstairs section too, parking is the only struggle you may have.
Overall, would I revisit, yes I would and I'd try some other foods as I do think we were maybe recommended the wrong items (seeing other pictures) but for now I won't be returning not for a while at least. But I won't be putting this down as an avoid, it's definitely worth a try at least once and then you can make your own decision, the reason I'm stating this is I feel there were better options but they weren't recommended...will update after the next visit and hopefully it's a much better...
Read morecame here for iftar a few days ago on the 5th april, the staff provided water and dates for customers which was nice but they forgot our table and I had to ask twice for this. ordered a full chicken parmesan and a chicken steak with drinks, about 20-25 minutes before iftar time to give them enough time to cook it fresh without a huge delay. the drinks and chicken parmesan came 5 minutes after iftar time, but we waited a while for the chicken steak only to be told the waiter who served us didn't add the steak to the order on the system. this meant the chicken parmesan became cold due to the wait for the steak but the fries were luke warm when the plate arrived anyway so it didn't seem fresh in my opinion. another brother (wore glasses, seemed like he was in charge) was kind enough to apologise and gave us two free mocktails and said he wouldn't charge for the steak to make up for it all. took at least 40 minutes overall after iftar time but when the steak came there was a chewed up piece of meat (wasn't clean cut) on the plate among the fries and salad under the chicken. and so my friend was put off their food and didn't eat the steak - the tables next to us looked disgusted too and shook their heads. we showed the staff but I did have to reiterate neither of us had ordered meat and that it had come from the kitchen as the staff were looking at the chicken parmesan plate as if it had been taken from there??? the brother who helped previously apologised and said he wasn't going to charge us for our visit which I respect but obviously the whole situation wasn't ideal at all especially having fasted all day and not really being able to eat properly despite being there for an hour after after iftar time had hit. also, the tables are extremely close together, table for two actually felt more like a table for 4 with the table next to us being so close. genuinely appreciate the nice gestures but overall was a bad experience...
Read moreChickaros is definitely a must-visit spot for anyone looking for a great meal in Birmingham. From the moment i walked in, i was greeted by the a friendly staff member called sadia and the amazing ambiance. The decor is modern and chic, and the lighting is just perfect. It's definitely a great place to take pictures for your social media.
But let's talk about the food. Chickaros has an amazing menu that features a variety of dishes that will satisfy any palate. Whether you're in the mood for something sweet or savoury, Chickaros has got you covered. I personally recommend their signature dish, the Chickaros burger. It's juicy and flavourful, and the fries that come with it are crispy and delicious.
If you're a fan of chicken, then you definitely have to try their chicken wings. They're crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The buffalo sauce is just the right amount of spicy, and the blue cheese dip that comes with it is the perfect accompaniment.
But Chickaros isn't just about the food. They also have an amazing drinks menu that features a variety of mocktails, and other beverages. I personally recommend their mojito, which is made with fresh mint and lime. It's the perfect drink to cool you down on a hot day.
One thing that really sets Chickaros apart is their amazing staff. They're friendly, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure that you have a great experience. I had the pleasure of being served by sadia, who was an absolute delight. She was very kind and helpful, and she made sure that we had everything we needed.
Overall, I would definitely recommend Chickaros to anyone looking for a great meal in Birmingham. The food is amazing, the drinks are delicious, and the staff is top-notch. It's definitely a great place to go with friends or family, and I can't wait to go...
