One star for service as the guy who served us was good.

Chicken biriyani had old and or burnt chicken and my son didn’t even eat one piece. When I spoke to I assume owner of restaurant about it he insulted my intelligence as if I don’t know how biriyani is made tastes or looks like. When you mix chicken curry with rice and give it a spin in Karahi and serve it,that’s not biriyani. Mix grill priced at £19.99 please refer to picture and don’t believe in words alone. Kebabs been torn in to two pieces with hand to make it look like it’s two and not one kebab. Please at least use knives to cut food as per hygiene. Lamb tikka was raw chewy uncooked and we didn’t eat any. Three lamb chops again not cooked properly left half eaten because of that. Chapli kebab which owner claimed he sells hundreds of Kgs per week are made out of beef unlike others using lamb or mutton. Please humour me here how does you selling this amount makes it good or made from beef(unadvertised or declared in menu or otherwise) makes the taste justifiable is beyond me. I asked the waiter to choose best Karahi for us as it’s our first time he chose lamb charsi Karahi. Very disappointing again. I asked it to be spicy and the only way they can make it spicy is put plenty of green chilli and I mean plenty of raw green chilli and once you take a bite at it. It’s so overwhelming that you only think of drinking water to calm your taste buds down. I have had lamb Karahis from Bradford all the way down south at Southampton and I know when I eat good Karahi. However owner again was very proud to tell me hundreds of kg meat they sell as Karahi a week. And even suggested sarcastically to give me bottle of water to calm my taste buds. Here’s the thing brother (owner) I traveled from reading and must have left 1000s of restaurants to come to yours upon my friends misguided suggestion and didn’t want to give you any feedback as I had no intention of coming back however upon insistence I chose to give my feedback face to face. I am Pakistani fan of Pakistani food and know food business inside out as we have successfully established food business ourselves and I am in Google’s top 10 restaurant reviewers it’s not a boast but a fact. Just stating it like I was with your food. Didn’t ask or needed anything from yourself but just simple acknowledgment that feedback taken on board. Why is it necessary to justify the unjustifiable by boasting how much you sell and how good you are with others. What matters to me may not matter to anyone else however by being dismissive and countering my opinion with your SALES per week is childish and or naive. What I was expecting that We do our best and as per your taste our best is not good enough. End of. Needless to say I want ever come back One because of taste Second because of your dealing with my sincere polite humble albeit...

During my recent visit to Shinwari Dera, I had the pleasure of indulging in their Peshawari Lamb Charsi Karahi, Lamb Seekh Kebab, and their famously huge naan. The experience was nothing short of exceptional, cementing Shinwari Dera as a standout spot for authentic, flavorful Pakistani cuisine.

The Peshawari Lamb Charsi Karahi was a culinary delight. The lamb was incredibly tender, cooked to perfection in a rich, aromatic gravy bursting with spices. Each bite was a harmonious blend of savory flavors that showcased the chef's skill and attention to detail. The dish was served piping hot in a traditional karahi, enhancing the overall dining experience.

The Lamb Seekh Kebab was equally impressive. These kebabs were juicy and perfectly spiced, with a delightful smoky flavor from the grill. The texture was just right, with each mouthful offering a burst of well-balanced seasoning. It was clear that the kebabs were made with high-quality ingredients and a lot of care.

Complementing these dishes was the restaurant's amazing huge naan. The naan was soft and fluffy, yet had the perfect amount of chewiness. Its size was impressive, easily enough to share, and it was ideal for scooping up the delicious karahi gravy and wrapping around the succulent kebabs.

Shinwari Dera's ambiance adds to the overall experience, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel at home. The service was prompt and attentive, ensuring that all our needs were met throughout the meal.

In conclusion, my visit to Shinwari Dera was a gastronomic delight. The Peshawari Lamb Charsi Karahi and Lamb Seekh Kebab were highlights, complemented perfectly by the enormous naan. I highly recommend Shinwari Dera to anyone looking for an authentic and delicious Pakistani dining experience. I will definitely be returning soon to explore more...

CC to #The Ombudsman Association. CC to: #Money Advice Service, Officer Consumer Rights UK. Subject: The worst restaurant ever. Zero Hygiene, Zero Customer Service and Zero taste. In short: we ordered our food and asked him please do not serve before 30 minutes as our guest is on the way and he said yes Charai karahi take 25 minutes to cook, we said thats great. But he served with in 15 minutes and said our chef cooks quickly, but actually he served us some one’s canceled food. As Dish(karahi) not looks fresh as it should be. After dinners we asked the guy to bring deserts and hot drinks but they refused as they said; they dont have any deserts or hot drink as the sweet chef is runaway. But we saw he was keep serving hot drinks(Kabli Kawa) and deserts to other customers (Actually he want us to leave table as soon as possible). So we left our family and went to next door for tea purchased and came back to collect our family. Manager on the receptionist desk very start acting badly and said; how dare you went out side and purchase tea with out his consent. I replied; I can bought any where because you don’t have it and why should I need his consent for purchasing my need from any where. He said; there are many people were waiting, we point out there 5 empty table. He said there were many(Actually he was lying, he just wanted to insult us) I was keep Mentioning him we are her to collect our family not to drink or have our packed food here in your restaurant but he was stand on his side and keep saying; how dare we left our family in side the restaurant. We was shocked his behaviour and attitude and he said he don’t care if we complain about any thing. We proceeded our case to further authorities. Noted we paid £96 in total for tasteless food and...

The food itself is okay but not worth going out of your way for when there's better afghan food available in Birmingham. We had the shinwari lamb charsi karahi which was fine, the pieces of meat are much smaller than your expected tikka pieces with a lot of errant shards of bone throughout, but its fresh and authentic in flavour. The mix grill starter was hit and miss with overcooked and tough pieces of both chicken and lamb. The music however means I will almost never come back. Loud pashtun songs on repeat, you can't even hear yourself think never mind hold a conversation without shouting. The seating is some weird American diner-type booth setup that is both tight and uncomfortable, there were four of us and we found ourselves having to squeeze in and sat uncomfortably - never mind juggling a huge naan on the table... There are some bigger tables and floor seating for larger parties of 6-8 people on the side, however. Staff are friendly and the toilets clean. Overall not the best experience unfortunately.
