Don't know why people make such a hype of this place when it is literally average.
Firstly waited 30mins for a table of 6, to which when sat down told us they ran out of peri chicken, which is what we specially came for as they had advertised an offer on tiktok. If it was finished should be blatantly saying so upon arrival of customers end of rather than making us wait for so and so long to then tell us oh we have run out, it's just disappointing. Moreover if you are going to hold such offers especially around the weekend (we had come on a Saturday at 7.30pm too) then its clearly obvious that you will have more customers as weekends mean kids off school and people off work, on top of the people getting exposed to your ads on social media. Therefore make sure to have enough stock, otherwise whats the point if u cant accommodate properly.
Ordered parmesan chicken, kebabish and sirloin steak, as well as a different platter they had available which had no peri chickens. I'll admit the kebabish was nice and to be honest the only thing that actually was the nicest out of everything we ordered. As for the parmesan, as soon as i took a bite of it, i tasted the fatty piece of the chicken that was so difficult to chew, like which parmesan chicken even should have those fatty bits still in it seriously. I've been to other restaurants and they certainly don't sell chicken like that. So that was a complete let down. The sirloin steak had average taste and again too much fatty pieces in it that you couldn't even eat, so half of the steak was a waste and a waste of money rather too, paying 19.95 for basically a kids portion of steak amazing 👏🙄.
The different tawa platter we ordered came to us "supposedly piping hot and sizzling", within a minute or two was literally cold, cold that you could even touch the tawa and the stand its on and not get burnt, thats how cold. We called for the manager and informed them of the situation to which they implied they will sort it out immediately for us. They took back the tawa and after two mins or so, they brought the tawa back out again. Once again after some minutes the tawa was completely cold to the touch and so was the food on it too. It literally seemed like they just put the whole tawa plate on top of the stove, heated it up a little and brought it back out, thinking it was warmed up properly. However, the tawa plate got warmed up, the actual food though? no that did not get warmed up enough to which jus remained cold as before.
At this point we were just fed up, we ate what we deemed as fine, paid and walked out. Never ever going to this place again. This was a first time going and the last now. Complete let down to both food and service and waste of £100+...
Read moreConsidering the prices, I was absolutely mortified and flabbergasted at what I had received. I had read the menu and what I received was quite different in that it didn't entirely match the menu description in quite a big way when it comes to real terms and it was COMPLETELY different from what was expected, as 80% of everything I had from the starters and the mains had consisted of salad, so not at all the things I had actually ordered.
For example I ordered Fish Tikka and I received 6 fish cubes 2cm cubed each with a charge of £7 making each miniscule cube more than £1 each, and this was suspended on loads of salad which I didn't want and didn't eat. Because of this I made 3 orders of this in total for it to equate to a standard sized portion in total, as the tiny tiny portions have not been designed to satiate the appetite.
Then for the main, I ordered the Tandoori Prawns, for this, once again, the vast majority being 80% of what was on the plate was salad, where on the center of it were 4 prawns with shells on them, the prawns themselves were rather small, and the charge was £16, making it £4 per prawn. This again did not satiate the appetite, so I made 3 orders of this in total.
You wouldn't be surprised to know that I didn't eat the salad which made up 80% of the plate, as that is not what I had ordered from the menu.
Then I ordered fries, instead I received chips, this was £3 and there were only 12 chips present, making it 25p per chip, rather ridiculous and ludicrous once again. Because of this obviously not being enough for the standard average appetite of a grown male adult, I made 3 orders of this also.
The drink was £3 and unlike many other places, free refills were not offered for them, so I consumed 3 glasses for £3 each.
My total bill for a standard total portion consumption came to £87, so NOT HAPPY!!
The prices are incredibly incredibly extortionate and exorbitant for what is actually received.
I did an experiment at home, where I made the same things of the same end total portion size of all of the 3 orders of each item added together, and the price totaled to £7.50 for the ingredients, and the amount of gas used to cook them was 33p from what the gas meter said, and even the retailers I purchased from ofcourse still make a decent profit on that. That totals to £7.83. Compare £7.83 to £87, it's not...
Read more@grillzsteakhouse 📍 278-280 Ladypool Rd., Sparkbrook, Birmingham B12 8JU visited the Lady-pool road however they also have a branch on coventry road.. HEADS UP if you are planning on going they only take card payments no cash.. their is a cash machine two doors down though and not even a minute walk away. . One of the few places that was actually open early on a Sunday on Lady pool road.. they have plenty off seating both upstairs and downstairs.
We got seated fairly quickly as was not busy when we went, took a while to get served however the food came very quick once we had ordered.. we wanted to try some of the mock-tails however most where sold out, this has happened once before when my sister visited saying they have no Mock-tails not sure if this is due them being popular or stock issues. They also didn’t have any milkshakes available to order either. We ended up getting two of the only options they had being a ‘Strawberry Mojito’ & ‘Rainbow Cruise’ both cost £4:50.. the strawberry mojito was nice however not a fan of the rainbow cruise. * Also although the food came quick the Mock-tails came when we had nearly finished our food *
For food we ordered one of the signature dishes on the Menu ‘Grillz Famous Kebabish’ which was Diced chicken or lamb doner mixed with onions and peppers, grill with their unique blend of spices. You can chose from lamb chicken or mixed I got mixed (£9:45) comes with a side I got chips, you also have option to go large however I thought my normal portion was enough. We also ordered the ‘Chicken Steak’ & ‘Chicken Shawarma no complaints with the steak .. however the shawarma wasn’t great wouldn’t recommend to get that.
Would 100% be back to try more the menu and maybe finally have the Mocktails, third...
