A beautiful emporium for wine lovers.
I admit to not knowing my Schloer from my Bolinger. So what attracted me to Loki Wine & Deli? It was the bright lights of its humble deli counter and the promise of mince pies. At the small deli counter I could see the beautiful, yet straightforward, range of cheeses, hams and antipastos. These are more to complement the wines than a meal outright. The wine is elegantly presented on its many wooden shelves around the perimeter of the shop. The wooden standing platform on the left hand side of the shop was well lit, displaying the more audacious drink varieties. The staff were helpful-showing us the ropes with the wine bar. We enjoyed 3 very different wines from the wine bar and were more adventurous with our choices than we would have normally have been if we had had to choose a more usual sized glass. Read moreI've been to Loki Edgbaston a number of times, both with my partner and bringing friends and family when they come to visit. It is always a wonderful experience with a constantly changing selection of wines to try. Their 75ml portion is just the right size for trying a good number of different wines that I otherwise wouldn't necessarily try, and it's helped me expand my thoughts and likes to countries I wouldn't have considered.
