I was disappointed with Village Kitchen. A small operation and the service was unusual. They don’t make the sandwiches in front of you like most sandwich places i’ve visited, so you can’t tell them how much of something to add. The pricing structure is inconsistent and they charge extra for salads. The interior is very small and only seats 4 people but there is outdoor seating. But usually people opt for take away here. Small sandwiches and barely any filling. Very disappointing. I was still hungry after eating a sandwich. Taste was okay but nothing revolutionary. Decent for a quick bite to eat if you are unable to make your own sandwich. But overpriced for the quality you get.

This is place to be on a sunny day when the Edgbaston Artisan Market is in full swing. There is an abundance of sheltered outdoor seating to enjoy a range of sandwiches, pastries and hot drinks.

After seeing the reviews I had high expectations I have visited twice now. I first went into check the menu The gentleman who greeted me was lovely and welcoming. The first proper visit I got a coffee was an average coffee. Not the best, not the worst. Service wasn't great. Maybe because I visited first thing in the morning. I went back again to grab a coffee and order my friend a toasted ham and cheese sandwich The sandwich was expensive, and she said it wasn't worth the price. It was thrown together with no care or effort The cheese was horrible. I offered to take it back or to call .she said to leave it, we just wouldn't go back. The service the second time was average, and we were having issues with their card reader, which is fair enough. However, I believe this took away from the service and quality of the food .

I had high expectations, so I won't...

Love this place - food is really fresh with a wide selection of choice. If you're in a rush you can grab a pre-packed sandwich or alternatively have one freshly made at the counter. They also do some hot items including a big breakfast offering, jacket potatoes, hot wraps and a couple of noodle type dishes. It can get really busy with all office workers dashing out for lunch - I would say peek time is 12:30 - 13:15 but always served pretty quick. They also off outside catering - we use in our offices occasional for meetings, portions and quality has always been top notch. Highly recommend a visit. Sandwiches etc are fairly priced - not the cheapest but good value from money as fresh and...
